So depressing

This guy is supposed be be a great story teller. I guess it depends on your definition. If a great story teller is someone who explains in excruciating detail every horrible event of his life in a voice that sounds like he’s going to cry at any second, well then, this guy is the best! I think it’s supposed to be funny in a self-deprecating way, but it wasn’t. It was just sad and pathetic. I’m depressed from listening to it. This was a freebie. Maybe I should have gone with the apocalyptic biker cat option. Trying to survive the end of the world would’ve been a happier story. I’m gonna go cry now.

Warning please

There should be a warning that there are adult themes and language in the description of any selection. I don't appreciate finding out as I started listening. What a waste. I might have selected something else from the free selections had I known. I don't care to listen to that type of thing.

Didn’t listen to it because of the warning at the beginning

I wish the warning about mature content was somewhere in the description. If it were, I wouldn’t have chosen this book. I have like three originals I don’t enjoy or want to listen to that I’m stuck with because I didn’t know about the content.

Enjoyable, self-deprecating humor

Although Adam's humor does not make me laugh until I cry, I found this audible selection enjoyable. For those who found it sad, the fact that he rose above his years of being bullied and used it as material to be successful, is not sad at all. This should be required listening for all middle school kids. It takes a talented comedian to get laughs without being completely vulgar these days.

Even for free, it wasn’t worth the time.

Just. Not. Funny. I forced myself to listen to the first chapter hoping it would get funny; it didn’t. The second chapter was worse. I couldn’t waste any more time in it than that. He comes across as kind of pathetic rather than self-depreciating, and it was not entertaining.

The human connection.

I found the honesty in Adams stories charming and relatable. A great reminder to keep kindness in your heart, a goal in sight and be true to yourself.

Worlds greatest guy

There isn’t a nicest guy in the world and his stories reflect every wonderful bit of him. This book is hilarious, heartbreaking, and heartWARMING. I’ve learned so much from adam and his stories and you should too.

Touching anecdotes with sincerity and vulgarity

Adam Wade is a pretty good storyteller, but, as Audible warns at the beginning of the audiobook, listener discretion is advised. Vulgar language and sexual themes are present.

Got it because it was supposed to be funny.

Hardly funny. Too much annoying laughter in the background. Sounds like a whack performance and I would not recomend this thing because I cannot call it a book. The laughs come on every 10 words.

Clever

Adam’s story is interesting & for some will be inspiring. There are some funny parts - but for me listening to his stories of social humiliation is uncomfortable & a tad depressing.
