It is not often that I will stick with a book full of characters that are so utterly corrupted. Why did I continue reading? The language is beautiful and the book is a classic and compelled me to keep going. I tried reading this several decades ago when I was a young woman, but it was so dark and scary to me that I put it down. This time, I committed to finishing and although I am sickened by all of the drama and distortion, I have learned that nothing good can come out of the drama dynamic.

Recently I read The Power of TED by David Emerald and have been working through my world trying to live in the Empowerment Dynamic, therefore this classic book reinforced the reason why I want to lift myself out of drama. Judy Holt does a fantastic job with the audiobook, who knows? I may listen to it again someday.

Happy I finished reading finally!

I really enjoyed it! The narration was great and kept me entertained. I read this classic novel in high school and I wish audible was an option back then, I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

GREAT CLASSIC!

Heathcliff and Catherine's love story is not as romantic as I have heard and thought it would be. Heathcliff made my skin crawl with his attitude/manners. Catherine irritated me too... but her daughter and nephew were better people... but bit weird with the way their part ended...

Although a very dark tale indeed, full of so may distasteful, unlikeable characters... yet so worth the listen. Everything has already been said about this book so I have nothing insightful to add other than Judy Holt's rendition of this classic is outstanding!

This is a classic and not much more can be said that hasn't already been stated. So I'll just comment on the narration. Judy Holt does a superb job with this dark tale. The voices are wonderfully distinct and the emotions nicely felt. She really brings home the characters and their personalities. I remember (too long ago) reading this book in high school but found, now I'm older, I enjoyed listening to this tale even more. A great way to aquatint or reacquaint yourself with this classic tale.
