Publisher's Summary

So wrong it's right…

When grumpy firefighter Leo finally answers the wrong number text he's been getting for several days, he has no idea pixels on a screen could be so hot - or make him want things he's never wanted before.

Dixie has always been quiet, shy, and reserved. Until she "meets" Leo. He's got the once shy librarian shedding her inhibitions and growing her confidence in their texts and calls - and it even starts spilling out into her everyday life. Part of her revels in her secret life - but part of her secretly wishes for more.

They never share more than first names, but each texting encounter gets hotter and hotter - and more intimate than either of them ever imagined. But you can't trust a stranger on the phone. Not really. You can't ache for something you've never had. And you certainly can't fall in love with someone you've never even met, can you?

Author Confession: Welcome to Brazen Bay, a small town I crafted just to explore that feeling of so wrong it's right. Just because something is forbidden or taboo doesn't make it wrong, does it? (You'd have to see the pictures on their phones to answer that.) Gruff Leo and sweet Dixie are perfect strangers and perfectly naughty when they let their guards down with someone for the first time. What starts as an innocent wrong number turns into something much more daring. Bonus points if you listen to this wrong number romance on your phone.

Playful and Steamy!

What a great premise this story had! What is the chance of texting to the wrong person? It's amazing how with today's technology, you can get to know someone without ever meeting them. In this case, Dixie texts Leo by accident, and their responses back and forth lead to the beginning of a fun and loving relationship. It's full of witty banter, great conversation and passionate texting to make you blush. And when Leo and Dixie do finally meet, the chemistry is high! But do you really know who you are talking to? Will the relationship build or is the mystique gone? Brill Harper has added laughter and passion to texting and made this book a lot of fun to listen to. It's a quick, playful listen and I can't wait to meet more people in Brazen, Bay!

Narrating text can be a challenge, but Meghan Kelly performs it flawlessly. She goes back and forth between the characters of Dixie and Leo without missing a beat, changing voices and adding the building passion this couple has. She creates their world, brings it to the front when they meet and lets us live through her voices. Another great performance!

Cute love story!

I found it a little bit confusing when the book started off with text messages. I had to re-listen to the first chapter to wrap my head around it. Once I got the hang of it, it seemed to flow just fine. It’s a sweet & short love story, at times cheesy but cute nonetheless.
Meghan, the narrator, did an awesome job! It felt like two people were reading it. I love the way Meghan translates the emotions through each scene. It makes a good book even better!

The Wrong Number - The Right Combination

This story is my first by this author, in fact, I only decided to listen to it because of who was narrating it, I just love the way Meghan Kelly narrates.

Leo is out with the guys who work with him at his firehouse, he's their chief so although they are friends he does keep lots of his feelings to himself. He receives a text from a number he doesn't recognize and as it's not the first one he's had from this number he decides to answer it, just to tell them they have a wrong number.

Dixie is and always has been shy, and reserved she's that way with everyone that is until she connects with Leo. This texting goes on for a while and eventually they speak with each other and soon he has the once shy librarian shedding her inhibitions and growing in confidence. They reveal their inner desires to each other and feelings become involved - but they still haven't met or exchanged more than their first names.

Each time they talk their relationship (for want of a better word) gets hotter and more intimate than either of them ever imagined it could. But before they can actually meet she runs scared and ends their relationship. Leo has no idea of how to find her and goes back to being his grumpy self.

Then the unexpected happens and they meet in real life!

I'm not going to say more except that this story is well done, the writing style is easy, the chemistry is hot and the narration by Meghan Kelly was every bit as good as I thought it would be.

I was given this audiobook as a gift and am voluntarily writing my review.

Narration was where it's at!

Meghan Kelly continues to wow me with her ability to voice men and women alike. She gave life to Dixie and Leo where the story lacked depth. Meghan Kelly was the reasoning behind this book catching my eye in the first place. Her name on it always makes me curious plus, wrong number romances are a hoot. I do wish there was a bit more humor and fun added to it. This isn't a bad book and at an hour and a half there isn't a ton of depth a story can really go into. The writing execution wasn't the best, it wasn't the worse.

This is definitely a lust at first text. An age gap with two very lonely people pulled to each other. I'd be curious if this is a relationship that would last.

Not sexy novella

I received this Audible book and voluntarily left an honest review. First I want to say that I usually stay away from novellas because I really like getting a full picture of the characters and story. But I love Meghan Kelly's narration so I decided to listen to this book by an author new to me. Wow, can Brill Harper write a novella that gives a complete fun, and sexy story! I love how Dixie and Leo are rather reserved characters, but together their passions ignite. Meghan creates voices that immediately draw you into this story. She makes you feel the characters' emotions. I highly recommend this Audible book.

Quick, Heartfelt, Sexy Romance!

This quick, sexy story is about how a wrong number helped two people unleash their passionate sides.
Grumpy firefighter, Leo, is tech challenged, and quiet librarian, Dixie, become more daring and bold as they get to know the faceless, anonymous person on the phone. Their sexy texts lead to passion neither has known before, and they slowly begin to want more. Little did they know that they were more alike and closer to each other than they ever imagined. This insta-love, steamy story was fun and witty, but it hit on a difficult topic as well, adding in some breathtaking emotion.
Narrator, Meghan Kelly, does a terrific job capturing each characters personality. Her voice changes were distinct and her intonations make you feel all the emotion, fun, and passion, both Leo and Dixie felt. I enjoyed this quick, heartfelt, sweet & sexy romance.

Review of Wrong Number Text (Audio Edition)

Leo gets a text from someone named Dixie, desperate to get his insurance information, so she can get her car fixed. The only trouble is, Leo is not the party responsible because the other person involved in the accident gave Dixie a fake number, the one belonging to the real Leo. Leo is instantly captivated by Dixie's personality, despite only exchanging texts with her, never meeting her face-to-face or even hearing her voice. That is, until they take their relationship to the next level - the phone call. This was a sweet, fun, sexy story that held my interest for a couple of hours. I enjoyed it and would listen to (or read) more Brill Harper in the future. I'd never read any Brill Harper before getting the opportunity to listen to this novella. I enjoyed the narrator and liked the way she told me the story. I felt her 'male' voice was a little weak, but I find that to be common for me among female narrators (with the reverse also being generally true that male narrators sometimes have a weaker 'female' voice) but this didn't detract from my enjoyment of the story nor the experience of listening to it.

Wrong Text

Such a nice, quick listen in this book. To meet and fall for someone over the phone without ever seeing them in person was a great way to make this book stand out from others. I really enjoyed listening to this and the narration was fantastic!

Fun book

This is a great fun book to listen too. It was short and the story moved fast, but it didn’t take away from the overall point. Worth the time to listen too.
