Publisher's Summary

Wrong Number, Right Woman is a lighthearted slow-burn lesbian romance that embraces likable characters without all the drama.

A single text message can change everything!

Flirting has never been Denny’s strong suit, but so what if she’s too shy to ask women out? She’s content with her simple life, working as a cashier and helping her sister raise her niece.

But then she gets a wrong-number text message from a stranger named Eliza, asking her of all people for dating advice!

Eliza is Denny’s total opposite: witty, outgoing - and straight. Despite their differences, the accidental text sparks an unlikely friendship. Soon, Eliza - self-proclaimed queen of disastrous first dates - would rather banter back and forth with Denny than to keep trying her luck at online dating.

When they meet in person, there’s an instant connection. But what Eliza is feeling can’t be attraction, right? It doesn’t mean a thing that she’s starting to wish the guys she dates would be more like Denny. Or does it?

Can the wrong number lead to the right woman after all?

True Love Story

Enjoyed this mainly because the characters developed a relationship before jumping into an intimate situation. They actually liked each other and were friends, not just working on a physical attraction. There's a warm and underlying depth to them as a couple. Also loved the lack of a fake or contrived mid-story break up. Just two adult women making adult decisions about their lives and how they want to live...together!

Heaven, I'm in heaven

Yes! With Jae and Angela Dawe, I'm definitely in heaven. Not to mention the sweet love story between Denny and Eliza. It is such a cute and heartwarming story. The book itself was great but putting it to life by Angela Dawe made it even more great. This is a must have! - CCB

well written but bland

If you are in the mood for a zero angst sloooooooow burn, toaster oven romance this will fit the bill. I enjoyed it but I was not captivated by it. It's a pleasant story of two ordinary people meeting by chance and becoming friends that very slowly realize it's something more. It's sweet treat like a nice bowl of premium vanilla ice cream. Nothing wrong with it, it's perfectly enjoyable it just not every exciting.

Narration was very good, but felt the voice used for Denny sounded too much like "Pat" from SNL and so detracted from my enjoyment somewhat.

Laugh-out-loud with incredibly likable characters

Highly recommend this book. One of the best I’ve listened to. I found myself laughing out loud to the banter and conversation between the two main characters.
Very well written, good story, wonderful and lovable characters, great narration. Couldn’t ask for a better book.

Fantasy??

This is not a fantasy romance. When I think about falling in love with someone in my fantasy, it's not a 42 year old cashier who's out of shape. I also don't want to be whisked away in her 11 year old Subaru. The only fantasy about this book is when the straight girl decides to be gay. A cashier who goes home and memorizes four digit fruit codes after hours on her own time is not fantasy. It illustrates the writer's lack of knowledge about what minimum wage people do with their free time. Angela Dawe could not save this book.

Jae and Dawe - a recipe for greatness

Can my whole review be swoon, swoon, swoon and more, please?
As much as I loved reading the physical book, the audio was even better. The best narrators elevate the quality of a work and The Legendary Angela Dawe does it every. damn. time. I was smiling, laughing, squealing, awwwwing and, yes - swooning - throughout the entire thing.
This felt like a warm bath on a cold day. Like sitting in front of a fire wrapped in the softest blanket. It was sweet, tender and felt so very good. Who can't use more of that right now?? A perfect combination of the wonderful words of Jae and the beautiful performance of Dawe.

Feel good read with quality narrator!

A beautifully narrated story with realistic and very likeable characters. Great to see a broad representation of the LGBTQ+ community without the usual angst! This story felt very real. It’s a bit of a slow burn, but left me feeling all warm and fuzzy!!!

A very sweet wlw romance

A feel good romance based around well rounded characters and a story line with lots of will they won't they emotion, some humor and an interesting theme about categorising people.

It is nicely written by Jae and Angela Dawe conveys the emotion of the story in an engaging way bringing out the sweetness of the story. Unfortunately though she does not give characters their own voices but reads the whole audiobook in her own voice, so it's sometimes difficult to keep track of who is doing /saying / thinking / feeling whatever unless you are listening very carefully.

Beautiful story marred by genderism

This was a beautiful story and the first I have read where I can fully relate to one of the main characters - I am a shy, self conscious, introverted, love handled butch myself. The slow-burn love between Denny and Eliza was so heartwarming and wonderful to follow. As far as the main characters and the romance goes I would give this book 5 stars. That being said, it's clear the author has become a card-carrying gender cultist and that was very off-putting. She even used the word Qu**r towards the end which made my gut clench. Anyway that's why I couldn't give it a full 5 stars overall.

This story was just meh. I listened to the last third on 1.5 speed to get through it. Disappointed as I loved “Just for Show”.

Deserves 10 Stars

I was hooked by the end of the first chapter and it easily shot to the top of my list of favourite books. The characters are refreshingly average normal people with standard jobs, lives and image related insecurities. Their connection is perfect and believable and there was no predictable breakup-resolution section of the story.
Unusually for this genre there was good representation of a range of LGBTQ+ characters and Eliza's realisation that she was attracted to a woman wasn't portrayed as a problem but her fears/questions were well explained. Additionally the inclusion of an epilogue nicely tied up the loose ends.

Angela Dawe's narration was excellent (Even Abby Craden couldn't have done a better job which is saying something)

A fun story that makes you smile

I really enjoyed the drama free slow burn romance that has plenty of content to make you smile.
I love that this is a love story instead of a story where the characters have to deal with phobias.
I would recommend this book 100% to anyone that simply enjoys a good love story.
