Not a sophisticated story, but an entertaining one
A 12yr. old boy growing up in a Nordic farm community dreams of raids, and glory "viking" as a hero to all of the village. The naive and a silly boy has rare blood in his veins, not that he knows it.
Using a trick of his unusual mind the boy persuades the Viking leader to let him aboard a Viking ship too young for what he is about to face.
His first raid would have been his last were it not for a act by a mythical being hiding in the woods, one who has been sent to seek this unusual boy out for a very special purpose.
This story is all about that special purpose, one to rescue a god.
