When I downloaded this book, I had no idea that it was the first in a series. Oh man, am I happy about that!!!

I loved this book from the opening sentence to the end!! The characters were flawed but fabulous. The mystery was fantastic with an ending that I thought I guessed, but not so much. And if that wasn't enough, you are rewarded with these little vignettes, these little snippets of stories, that are not central to the plot but are woven in and let's the listener peek into other people's world--just like real life.

The narration was STELLAR!! One narrator doing male and female voices usually can do one well and not the other. That was not the case with this listen.

I'm so glad there is a book two to this story. I feel like I was given a gift I had not expected!!

Good story!

I enjoyed this audio book but it was a bit hard to keep up at times. Tenery has a good story but with so many characters jumping around, I got confused as times. Maxwell Zener has an beautiful voice, and did an amazing job giving voice and meaning to the characters.

It's been awhile since I've read a book that kept me up much later than I intended to because I couldn't put it down!! I kept waiting for a slow part but they were few and far between. Oh well, it was totally worth it! It's a little hard to keep track of all of the characters but keep with it, it's worth it. I won't give the story away other than to say I was completely wrong about the killer, I'm usually pretty good at figuring it out, but this one slipped right by me. The best part is you don't have to worry about language or sex scenes, it's completely clean. Being a murder mystery there is of course violence, but it's not gory, I think it would be a perfect audiobook to listen to on a family trip as long as the kids weren't really young. The narrator did a superb job, his voice was perfect for the story and the characters!!

Christian Suspense/Murder Novel

I enjoyed listening to this audiobook but to be able to keep up with so many characters, I had to get the Kindle version to read along.

It is an interesting and well written book. There are several people's perspective throughout the book which makes it a bit harder to follow at times. It is not an easy listen/read. I had to place close attention so I would not get lost. The suspense, twists and turns kept me engaged.

Poor Sara goes through a lot in this book. Matt annoyed me with his suspicions but things got ironed out at the end. I wish there was a bit more romance intertwined in this stressfully suspenseful novel.

If you like suspenseful detective novels with lots of twists and turns you would like this book. Detectives are trying to solve a murder case that happened almost 30 years ago. The remains of a six year old are found in a construction site. The killer could still be living in the area and if there are any witnesses, the killer might stop at nothing do silence the witnesses.

There are 2 murders and some attempted murders that might be connect. Or are they? I don't want to give out spoilers.

The narrator did an awesome job bringing the story to life.

He did a great job in reading the book.

I laughed at time and grumbled about how Matt always thought we worse of Sara. Poor Sara just seemed to have one problem after another.
