Publisher's Summary

Straight-laced and well-mannered southerner Emmy Clarke is out of her depth in New York City's fashion world, but when she lands a job as an assistant at a modeling agency it seems like the perfect mix of business and pleasure. Working under the notoriously tyrannical Fiona Stone is a nightmare, but there's one distinct perk: ogling the ridiculously hot male models who parade through the office; particularly rising star Ben Shaw.

Ben is everything Emmy is not: exquisitely gorgeous, highly paid, and well traveled. He's also got more issues than Vogue. Emmy looks after Ben on photo shoots, but she refuses to become another one of his lusting groupies. Ben finds Emmy's refreshingly real attitude to be surprisingly attractive.

Against a backdrop of the most fashionable cities in the world, casual flirting turns into an illicit affair, but when Ben's twisted past is revealed, and the bitter Fiona catches wind of their relationship, their careers and hearts are threatened.

Here is a story of heart-stopping, toe-curling passion by the beloved bestselling author of Hard to Love, Resisting Her, and The Impact of You.

Wish I would have skipped

This book was a complete miss for me. I was looking for a story that took me on a journey and characters that I could love or connect with. Emmy's character was lacking in personal boundaries and it really bothered me. If you don't like how Ben is a sex magnet then why would you have a threesome with him? If you don't like how he gets drunk and hangs out with people doing drugs why would you ignore the behavior? Emmy finally stiffens her spine when she finds out about Ben's past relationship and that provokes a reaction?? I don't buy into her at all.
And Ben, if you cherish your lady and want her for only yourself don't bring a buddy into your bed. You don't get trashed when you are expecting Emmy to meet you somewhere. You don't lie to Emmy. I won't even start on the situation with Fiona because it was very implausible to me.

On a positive note I did like the dual narrators and they did well.

I hated this book

I'm a good southern gurl from Tennessee and I don't do casual sex only relationships...(next few chapters) she's contemplating having a threesome with the guy she's"falling for" and his model friend who she's only met once...It's like COME ON ALREADY!!!
it's played people. I'm returning this one immediately and the sequel.

Disappointing

I could barely finish this story. The main character, Emmy, was so needy and wanted too much from Ben just after a couple of weeks. I felt she acted more like a teenager. I just couldn't get into it. I did enjoy the dual narration.

stupid storyline, weak minded female

Emmy is so insecure and has no back bone. Her relationship starts off being superficial and other than Ben sad childhood, he is not much of a man. He doesn't stand up to Fiona nor does he address any of the real concerns.

Stupid: Don't belive the hype

Where do I start, this book was poorly written. The characters were not developed properly. Emmy for 60 % of the book is shown as a sweet girl in the mix of sharks. Then out of the blue she does something that's out of character and did not fit in the story. Ben was not that troubled. I've heard worse stories. I read a book where the main characters family was murdered. I understood why he was crazy acting. I hated most of these characters. I hated the love story. It made no sense why these two people would want to be together. Why because Ben was sooooo good looking and Emmy was an innocent (if you read this book, you will find out that's a lie.) girl. They both were stupid and dummies. I knew I did not want to read anymore of Ben and Emmy's story. I made the mistake (I think) and got book 3. However, book 1 ruined it for me with Brayton. Ellie seems like a angry B***ch.

Fair story

This audiobook version just didn't hit the right notes for me. The story moved pretty slow and I just couldn't get into the characters, though I usually love Kendall Ryan's books. The hero seemed so wishy-washy and I didn't care for the female narrator. All in all the book seemed to drag, and I don't know if the next book will be any better.

An amazingly hot read!

Get swept away by the hot model Ben Shaw! You will love his dirty mouth and quick wit! He sets his eyes on Emmy, his manager's new assistant and when the two finally get together, it's off the charts hot! However, Ben has a past that runs deep and when things come to light, watch out! Emmy has her work cut out for her and it is a rough road she has to take if she wants Ben in the long run!

Working It

I feel like I'm listening to some fsog gone real bad. Every time they get to a disagreement all he has to do is feel her up and she's good. And that last problem with Fiona being pregnant, she was so angry and left him then she comes back and he tells her come to my place and she okays it. Then she forgave him and jumps into bed ready to give it to him again. All together I'm surprised I finished this (granted, I had to fast forward it alot). At least the narrator was good.
