  • Ep 204 Araceli Vidales: Collective Trauma and Healing
    Feb 3 2026

This episode of Word To Your Mama was recorded in response to the collective trauma, grief, and anxiety many people are experiencing in this moment, particularly as policies, rhetoric, and decisions from the current U.S. administration are impacting families, communities, and children.

Ritzy P is joined by therapist and community healer Araceli Vidales to create space for processing what so many are feeling but struggling to name. Together, they explore how collective stress shows up in the nervous system, how children absorb fear and uncertainty from their environments, and why community care and ancestral wisdom are essential tools during times of instability.

The conversation examines generational trauma and generational wisdom, the role of culturally grounded therapy, and the importance of addressing mental health without gaslighting ourselves or our children. Araceli and Ritzy also discuss parenting through difficult conversations, breaking cycles of shame and silence, and finding grounding practices that support resilience rather than avoidance.

This episode is not about partisan debate. It is about mental health, emotional regulation, and community healing during a time of widespread uncertainty, and about offering listeners language, tools, and validation for what they are carrying.

    Key Topics Covered

    Collective trauma, grief, and anxiety

How political and social stress impacts the nervous system

Children’s mental health and emotional absorption

Ancestral knowledge as a grounding and therapeutic resource

    Community healing alongside traditional therapy

  • Ep 203 Brandi Andrews: Healing Beauty, Melanin, Trauma, and Building a Holistic Skincare Ecosystem
    Dec 1 2025

Ritzy P has a convo with Brandi Andrews, a Black and Mexican beauty industry expert to explore the deeper layers of skincare, wellness, and representation. With twenty five years of experience, Brandi shares how her journey from a rural upbringing shaped her mission to advocate for melanated skin and build a beauty ecosystem that serves Black and Brown communities.

Brandi also introduces Youth Dealer, her skincare line created to support an inclusive, holistic, and culturally aware approach to beauty. Through the lens of Youth Dealer, she explains how skincare can become a sensory, healing, and empowering ritual for people who have often been overlooked by traditional beauty systems.

This conversation highlights the emotional and cultural realities within the beauty world. Brandi discusses the trauma carried in beauty and wellness spaces, the lack of representation in skincare education, and the importance of caring for the whole person rather than focusing only on the skin.
