Lo and behold and against all odds - British women had to take over all of the men's jobs at home - to provide food, wood, artillery, build ships, work in factories, drive 18 wheelers, plus provide protection for their children and elderly. All things they never imagined doing, but they did and helped save their country. A must listen for everyone!

I had read the book version of this informative book of the women warriors of WWII; but now having listened to the audible version; I have taken away so much more. To listen to the touching, poignant stories in the voices of some of the women who stepped up to the plate and just did what they had to do to survive; was enlightening and heartbreaking. Should be required reading/listening for any student!
