Publisher's summary

It’s William de Wolfe’s (The Wolfe) eldest grandchild and namesake, William “Will” de Wolfe, in an unconventional romance that is going to break your heart…and then put the pieces back together again. Welcome to the greatest de Wolfe Pack generation!

William “Will” de Wolfe has the weight of the entire de Wolfe empire weighing on him. Perfection is key. Living up to the grandfather he was named for has been something he’s had to deal with his entire life. But Will is strong, noble, true, and powerful—everything a man named William de Wolfe should be. Except he’s living through a personal tragedy no man should have to live through.

Will was very young when he married his wife, Lily de Lohr. As the great-granddaughter of Christopher de Lohr, the marriage forever linked the Houses of de Wolfe and de Lohr. The children born of the marriage are considered to have some of the finest bloodlines in England. But tragedy strikes when pregnant Lily is diagnosed with a terminal illness. And she wants to pick her husband’s next wife.

More than that, she wants him to fall in love with her.

When his dying wife plays matchmaker, how successful can the relationship be between Will and Adria de Geld, the daughter of a de Lohr ally? Lily is determined that Adria should replace her in Will’s heart and in his bed, something Adria is reluctant to do, but she cannot help but feel the attraction to the handsome, tortured knight. She soon finds out that his torment is not only because of his dying wife, but because of a terrible secret that Lily hides. Will only found out by accident, and it is tearing him to pieces. A terrible secret that could tear apart two of England’s greatest families.

Can Adria and Will’s love take flight in spite of the dire circumstances? Or will Will’s torment overshadow a truly gifted, intelligent, and beautiful woman who has managed to fall in love with him?

Awesome

Fascinating continuation of the ever intriguing saga of the de Wolfe family! The oldest grandson of William de Wolfe, Will has a very heavy burden to capture the interest of the reader and hold it! Yet he does! Once again KLV has captured our interest from the first page to the very last word on the last page! We always think of this family as Warriors, yet Will doesn't come across as a great, strong Warrior! Yet, in my opinion, he is the strongest, bravest, most courageous, most honorable of the family! He certainly rivals his father and grandfather in those categories! I reviewed from the audio of the book and KLV and Brad Wills, the narrator, kept me up all night! There was just no place in the book where the action slows down enough to let me take a break for sleep!

Has an unexpected twist to the ending.

I didn't see those two coming. This has two very good and unique twists to the ending and it takes you by surprise. This is one of the most compassionate men in Kathryn's books and I was very happy for his outcome. I was also happy to see him have the love he deserved with a woman worthy of him. The other surprise was thinking there could be a serious break between two very powerful families, but it turns out well. I think I held my breath at one point. All in all, it's another good story to take you away in time.

Outstanding!

Kathryn knows how to make me go through every emotion. She has a brilliant mind!
Brad has the ability to drag those emotions out of me with his narration. I find myself smiling, crying and feeling anxious with just his voice! What a perfect combination of author and narrator! This deserves more than just five stars!

Riveting

I never expected a storyline this good and different! I’ve read over thirty of Kathryn Le Veque’s books and enjoyed every one. After reading The Black Storm, another five star read, I went right into Wolfelord. Usually it’s hard to find another book that will keep the good book momentum going. Wolfelord wilI do it. I highly recommend both, especially Wolfelord. The situations happening within the story surprised and shocked. Kathryn Le Veque is a constant fountain of good reads.

Heartfelt but predictable

A little too predictable, Will is too nice, still a good story. Narrator is the best male voice. Would like more about the border strife, politics, I don’t know who the King is, Will is a border lord with no responsibilities. Too soapy.
