Publisher's Summary

Four renegade wolf shifters. An innocent young woman trapped in a web of lies. When their fates collide, sparks will fly....

Diagnosed with a rare terminal illness, I’ve spent over half my life in the Strand Corporation’s state-of-the-art treatment facility. I keep my chin up and do everything the doctors order, praying one day I’ll walk out of here in perfect health.

But when that day finally arrives, it’s nothing like I hoped it would be. Instead, it comes in a hail of gunfire, along with four distractingly handsome men who say they’re here to rescue me.

On the run with these mysterious men and hunted by the very people I believed were my caretakers, I begin to realize nothing is what I thought it was.

Turns out, I’m not really sick. I’m not completely human either....

Wolf Hunted is the first audiobook in The Last Shifter series, a slow-burn reverse harem story. If you love heroines with guts, hot alpha men, whychoose romance, and edge-of-your-seat action, dive into this thrilling new series today!

3.5 overall but still recommend

I think this is definitely a YA book...pretty full of hormones and not much character development.
I'm a little peeved at how the innocent and sheltered main character is from being raised in a medical compound, yet she's all about dropping the F bomb every minute like one of the guys. It's a little too fast for a character to change... especially since I didn't hear any of that while she was in the compound.
I still recommend it though, and I'm going to buy the second one because I have to with this dang cliffhanger. uuugh.

edit: audible doesn't have the rest of the series. 😑

Ends with a huge cliffhanger...

so if you are expecting that 'happy ever after' (HEA) the romance genre promises, look elsewhere. Even if a book is part of a series, each book should end with a small HEA. Ending a book in the middle of a scene where everything is going horribly wrong is just bad planning and writing. Could have ended it a couple scenes earlier where everything was hopeful and then used the last scene as opening drama.

Which is sad because I thought the book was fairly good. Yes, the main character was a bit whiny and too reflective on the past for my taste, but it was tolerable. I would have given the book at least 4 stars. However, dropping it down to one star shows how disappointed the ending left me.

An Interesting Listen

This was an interesting listen. The storyline is well done and the characters are nicely developed. There's action, adventure, romance and shifting. The only problem I have is that this book ends on a major cliffhanger. As another reviewer pointed out, the author could have let the book end a bit earlier and then started the next book with the drama, that would have been much better. With that said, the story is good and worth your time. However, if you don't care for cliffhangers then you should wait until the next book is out before listening to this one. The narration by Laurel Schroeder is nicely done. She does give each character their own voice and emotions but i would have liked a bit more difference in the male voices. Also she seems to have a "crisp" edge to her voice from beginning to end and I think if she just relaxed a bit more while reading then it would have been better. Overall, I did enjoy listening to this book and I look forward to the next installment.

Pick this one!

Sadie Moss is a great author and when I find a new series she has written, I find myself diving right in. After having listened to the first in this series, not only do I plan to listen to the next one, but I also plan on picking up the ebooks to read. The overall performance of the narration was great and I am looking forward to listening to the next part in this series.

Great shifter romance with some interesting twists

I loved this book. The beginning started out as a huge surprise. I mean we know shifters are involved because of the name of the book but what happens is still a surprise and I did not see it coming. Alexis is learning about freedom and about her attraction to 4 different shifters. I liked this story because of the character development and the relationships in general. Because Alexis doesn't know a whole lot about the outside world it was a lot of fun to see what she thought of everything. And her boys are all fantastic and I can't wait for the next book to see how their relationships develop!

I love the narration. Laurel Schroeder always does a fantastic job at bringing the characters to life.

Enjoyed this audio by Sadie Moss, despite narrator

So I am slowly going through Sadie Moss’s audiobooks since they have been coming out a lot recently. I am really enjoying her writing and the characters she is creating. I definitely will be checking her other series out that arent on audio yet because I want to read more!

For this particular story, I enjoyed the way Alexis and her men slowly became something for each other. I was surprised by how much I was digging Reese after the incident in the woods and then at the end when he called her baby! I nearly died haha. I think West and Noah might be my favs, but I have to deal more into the series to be sure haha. I liked how Alexis wasnt one of those heroines that was too stupid to live. She had her moments, but I think that was more because she was in captivity for so long and hadn’t experienced a lot of things yet. I loved how she devoured hamburgers haha and that Jackson was turned on by it. These wolfies are easy to fall for and adding in the wolf taking control aspect was intriguing. I can’t wait to find out more and see if/what Alexis shifts into. This series has a lot of potential and I am already onboard to find out more 😊.

My only gripe for this audiobook was the narrator. I hate giving less than 3 stars and the only reason I didnt was because she is manageable if you listen to it on a faster speed. Is as listening at 1.1 or 1.15 speed and it made listening to Laurel somewhat ok. I honestly avoid all audiobooks from her because I CANNOT STAND the way she pauses, sighs, breathes, lisps, etc. I am used to listening to a lisp that is accidental, but she emphasizes it and makes it completely unnecessary. I think her narration detracts from the overall audiobook. I wouldnt purchases books by her unless I absolutely loved the author. I would ask authors to think about using her, if they have a choice. I listened to her on other audiobooks when her Scottish accent comes out and those are even worse. Sorry for being the negative Nancy, I just dont enjoy listening to her. She is alright with the guy voices here but seriously, can’t listen for a long period of time at once and I shouldn’t be pulled out of a story like that.

I was surprised to see that this book came out in audio earlier in the year but none of the rest are out (despite the series being done with 4 books). I hope the rest come out on audio because the story has a really good premise. Maybe get a new narrator who doesn’t take away from the story. Again, loved this story and the author and will continue to support her and her audiobooks. If you can get back the narrator, I would recommend this audiobook.

Action Packed

The beginning started off nice and calm, and then chaos. There was so much action, everything on the edge of your seat including the end. This is a slow burn because even though there's four guys she doesn't go all the way with any..yet. The narrator did a fantastic job giving unique voices to everyone. Now I have to rush to find book 2!

Unique Shifters

This was a great start to The Last Shifter series! Alexis has spent her whole life in hospitals and facilities. When she was a child, she was diagnosed with a rare terminal illness. Nothing ever seemed out of place and she was always so grateful for the staff that took care of her until things went awry. She manages to escape with her life and four strange men- nothing else. Now she’s on the run, discovering the truth and it hurts. I really enjoyed her four men, Jackson, Noah, Rhys, and West. I love how we get to learn about their past and the chemistry they all have with her. I think Noah was my favorite with his adorable and protective personality, but I also really loved the rest of the guys too- they’re each unique. Slow burn worked really well with this story and made it more believable, especially since she’s been locked away her entire life. This book isn’t your normal shifter book and I truly appreciated the originality of it. I feel like Sadie did an amazing job mixing science, romance, and the paranormal world and I can’t wait to see where it goes!
Laurel did another fantastic job with this narration! I always get excited when I see that she narrators a book that I’m about to listen to. I love how she can bring each character to life and enhance the story with her tone and passion.

Shifters

These are man made shifters through experimental harsh treatments. The story will tug at your heart, and the naivety of the heroine will have you smiling. The ending will have you on the edge of your seat and wanting to pick book two immediately! Laurel did an outstanding job with the emotions this character portrayed.

Loved it!

Sadie Moss did not disappoint with this one. I’ve read and listened to her other series, and thought this sounded interesting. Whew. I was sucked in from the start. Oh the lies. Wicked, wicked lies. The plot was fresh, and the character development was good. But that ending! No, no, no I’m not ready for this book to be over. Right when the thing happened with blondie. I can’t tell you the thing, it gives too much away. But I need book 2 stat! The narration was great. Overall this was a awesome listen. I needs more!

My Thoughts on Wolf Hunted

What a great kick off to a series. A girl who's been lied to her whole life and led to believe she's sick. When she's rescued by four sexy men she learns that everything she believed was a lie. Now she's on the run with for shifters and any day she may become one herself.

I loved this book. From start to finish it was attention grabbing and it held it. I didn't want to stop listening as I learned more about these characters that were so well written and was on the edge of my seat wondering what would happen next. The plot was really thrilling. I felt like some new twist was always coming up and it was just so perfectly placed and exciting. But that ending!!! Now I need book two to hurry up and come out cause this book ended with everything so very unresolved.

One of the other things I loved about this story was the narration. Laurel Schroeder is one of my favorites and this was just another example of why I love her. Smooth yet really interesting tone. One that she varies really well for different characters. I really like her male voice. While I'm not sure I noticed a whole lot of difference between the four main men, it really didn't bother me because I liked that it was a good male tone all together. I hope she comes back for the next book and that it comes out soon.

The Hunted

Alexis thinks she has a terminal illness and is at the facility where they are looking for a cure. She is taken from the facility and finds out that she has been lied to. She now believes she has been an experiment and is a shifter. Four men rescue her and she has developed feelings for them. The book ends on a cliffhanger that leaves you upset.
