Publisher's summary

“In this bold, analytical, and readable book, Miles names names and dismantles the fallacy of progressive Christianity.” (Eric Metaxas, number one New York Times best-selling author and Host of the Nationally Syndicated Eric Metaxas Radio Show)

Today’s social justice movements call for equality, civil rights, love . . . solid Christian values, right? What if there is more to social justice than Christians understand? Even worse: What if we have been duped into preaching ideas that actually oppose the Kingdom of God?

Woke Jesus uncovers the real dangers to Christianity and America from the Christian Left, Progressive or Woke Christianity. These radical alternatives abandon traditional biblical interpretations regarding marriage, gender, racial equality, justice, original sin, heaven and hell, and salvation, replacing them within a new fabricated morality. This fabrication is built around political correctness, cancel culture, hedonistic values, obsession with public health, allegiance to the leftist state, universalism, and virtue signaling.

Author Lucas Miles— a pastor and trusted voice in the American church who has consistently addressed some of the most challenging topics in religion—not only outlines how the radical left wing is co-opting Jesus for their own anti-religious views, but also provides a call to action for Christians to resist the siren song of social justice and Wokeism. Rather than ignoring the problems within the church, Miles shows Christians how to grow in the truth of God’s word by expanding their understanding of solid orthodox theology.

The church’s best days are still ahead!

A hard to dodge indictment of the American church

Lucas Miles gives us a scholarly and hard hitting exposè of how Woke ideology, which he equates to cultural Marxism, infiltrated the Christian church and is on its’ way to becoming yet another “enemies within” takedown of America and western civilization. We get a guided tour of historical Wokeism by other names, including first century Gnosticism, Manichaeism and the 20th century Search for the Historical Jesus, all efforts to deconstruct and remake who Jesus was to make Him subservient to Man, useful for controlling people as opposed to setting them free. The modern day Woke Jesus is no different, and Miles traces the modern story of how the church sold out(literally) and became co-opted by the Billionaire oligarchs and governments of the 20th and 21st centuries. He indicts all forms of Critical Theory as well as Godless efforts to achieve social Justice as the 2 areas that have been embraced by too many churches in America and the West. He reminds us that it is not enough to look the other way, that false teachings and untruth must be confronted and rejected soundly from the pulpit for the church to regain its’ true mission. While exposing this apostasy as a False Gospel, he names names as well as churches complicit in the secular sell-out. In the end he gives specific ways that Christians can fight back, principally by not abandoning the church but by remaining a loyal part of a church in their communities while demanding accountability of both pastors and fellow congregants to put on the full armor of God by preaching and following the Lord Jesus Christ in all the fullness of God’s word and revealed truth. I highly recommend this book

Duci a Spiritu Sancto

Duci a Spiritu Sancto; that is, be guided by the Holy Spirit. The author certainly was. Far too many churches today... sunt sectatores Lucifer.

Everyone needs to read this book.

Woke Jesus tackles the tough issues surrounding Christianity today. He lays out the history of how we have come to be where we are and why it is easy for people to be led away from biblical truth.

Every believer on both sides of the political issues of the day should read this and ask if it’s possible they, too, have been led astray.

A worthwhile listen.

A worthwhile listen for understanding what's happing in many American "churches" and understanding how the unbiblical wokeollogy, and false teachers are infiltrating and attacking the church.

Great book

I enjoyed listening to this book. The information provided answered many questions about what “woke” is about and how to discern if your church is following woke or Biblical theology. It’s simple and easy to understand. The voice and reading style was pleasant and kept my attention.
