Publisher's summary

The story of The Archimage Wars is an urban fantasy series. The story begins in current time, on Earth, but don't let the time or place fool you! Truth is stranger than fiction and the truth about Earth and what it really going on will confound and amuse you!

Join the lead character, Nick, as he tells his crazy story, and takes you on a diabolical journey where you will travel across the Ten Worlds. Nick must not only survive, but he must relearn to use the magic he has forgotten if he is to survive the Ascension Quest, and unravel plots so twisted and deep you would need an Albus Sorceress to help you find your way through! Fortunately, you will have one to help you figure it all out.

On this journey you will discover things that are hidden in all of Earth's history, wars, religions, famous people, movies, books, legends, and myths, and while doing so, uncover the truth about our universe! It is not what you think. This novel series will take you on a quest across many strange fantasy worlds, not the least odd of which is Earth. The worlds range from almost Tolkien fantasy settings to modern day technology, and everything in between!

A very entertaining audiobook

Would you listen to Wizard of Abal again? Why?

This is an extremely well done, very funny, contemporary fantasy novel, with a full cast where every actor fits the character they are portraying, you will rarely find yourself wanting to put it down. If you enjoy the Dresden files, you will really enjoy this novel. The main character is a bit of a funny jackass with many memorable scenes, you will find your self constantly laughing at the scenarios he is put through with a slew of friends.

Dresden meets the Matrix

Would you consider the audio edition of Wizard of Abal to be better than the print version?

I totally consider the audio edition better than print only because these days most people are so busy just trying to make ends meet that reading print is a luxury. However, the performance was well done and ease to follow as I did other tasks while listening.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Wizard of Abal?

How the trebuchet scene ended.

Have you listened to any of Philip Blood and Full Cast ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Before I had only read his printed work or had my text to speech program Ivona Reader, read it to me while I did artwork.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

The reality of perception!

Any additional comments?

Once of the aspects I have always enjoyed about Phil Blood's writing is that he is a world creator and the rules of reality are always unique and well thought out. This book was a joy to listen to with plenty of twists, turns and a lot of humor. I also got a kick out of all the pop culture references. I look forward to listening to the next installment in the series. I am hooked!

A crazy ride with a strange group of heros!

What did you love best about Wizard of Abal?

The humor and the odd hero (?)

Who was your favorite character and why?

Myrka, she is so bloodthirsty.

What about Philip Blood and Full Cast ’s performance did you like?

I loved the full cast recording, having different people doing each character made it very easy to know who was speaking.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I laughed out loud several times.

Any additional comments?

What a strange book! This is not your normal hero, in fact, he is almost despicable. If it wasn’t for the fact that I suspect the author is going to take this rough lump of clay and slowly turn him into a diamond (or at least a polished stone) I might despair! However, though abrasive, I did find him funny as hell, and can be patient in letting him develop over the series. What I did find enjoyable is the story, and how it begins very simply, though I suspect it will get more complex as time goes on. This made it easy for me to jump on the train, before it picks up speed! The cast of characters are also enjoyable and quite different, from the simple tourist, Hydan, to the murderous Myrka and honorable Toji, it’s a strange group to be together. In fact, that’s what made it the most interesting to me.I have already listened to book 2 as well and it gets even better, with the plot thickening quite a bit! Can’t wait for book 3 now!

would have been good but ..<br />.

this would have been a good book and an interesting topic however the author or is it the narrator don't know treats The Listener or the reader like they're idiots could have built a back story and the wise in the house without sounding like we're actually 3rd graders this is very annoying this could have been a wonderful magical book
