Lt. Mellie Blake is looking forward to beginning her training as a flight nurse. She is not looking forward to writing a letter to a man she’s never met - even if it is anonymous and part of a morale-building program. Lt. Tom MacGilliver, an officer stationed in North Africa, welcomes the idea of an anonymous correspondence - he’s been trying to escape his infamous name for years.

As their letters crisscross the Atlantic, Tom and Mellie develop a unique friendship despite not knowing the other’s true identity. When both are transferred to Algeria, the two are poised to meet face-to-face for the first time. Will they overcome their fears and reveal who they are? Or will their future be held hostage by their pasts?

Combining a flair for romance with excellent research and attention to detail, Sarah Sundin vividly brings to life the perilous challenges of WWII aviation, nursing - and true love.

Reseñas de la Crítica

"I love the nostalgia and drama of the WWII era. No one takes me back there better than Sarah Sundin. With Every Letter is a beautiful love story and has everything you want in a novel: romance, suspense, and characters you care about from the very first page. A marvelous beginning for her new series. I can’t wait to read the next book." (Dan Walsh, award-winning and best-selling author of The Discovery)

It showed honest evaluation and mistakes. Some great humor. Light and easy as well as spiritually encouraging. Thanks!

I loved this story. It may have gone a tad long but never lost my attention. The narrator was one of the best I've heard. I'm not sure if the military truly allowed so much lovey-dovey stuff, so I chalked that up to fiction and just enjoyed the story. I highly recommend this one.

great story and wonderful narrator!

Would you listen to With Every Letter again? Why?

Yes. I experienced every emotion possible with the characters as they struggled and lived. This was one heck of a roller coaster ride that I plan to enjoy again and again.

What was one of the most memorable moments of With Every Letter?

Mel's many struggles to maintain her faith in the face of major adversity.

Which scene was your favorite?

The dog being a hero as he saves major deconstruction of an airfield to repair a communications cable. I have a dog just like that.

Any additional comments?

I loved the interweaving of faith and happiness so lacking in stories today. I want to hear more from the author and reader.

A love story even a guy cry over

Spoilers ahead. The MMC is the worst kind of officer in the military. He constantly tries to be everybody's friend to the point that he just explicitly let's his subordinates do whatever they want and slack-off, and it ultimately ends up costing lives.

Then his best friend gets attacked by the enemy and he just let's them shoot him because he's afraid to kill.

I acknowledge people like this exist, but they should be scorned for letting their men and comrades down. I have zero interest in reading the rest of this story.

The romance aspect is reasonably well executed, but it's overshadowed by the fact that I would spend the rest of the book hoping thlover. (the FMC) ditches this pathetic loser.

The MMC is a coward and a milksop

The beginning was ok. The end was great. The middle drug on. It felt like a repeat theme of some of this authors other stories but with different characters. The main characters were unnecessarily weak and the plot was predictable. It was fine, worth listening to but not my favorite of this author’s books. I liked the narrator.

Beginning and end were fine

A lovely story about having faith and trusting God. The story is set during World War ll. Tom is an officer in North Africa and Mellie is a flight nurse. Everyone has heard of Tom because of a decision made by a family member when he was a child, and Mellie faces insecurities that she developed as a child. Both must learn to trust in God and have faith in the plan he has set before them without allowing their past and insecurities to hinder them. This is a must read! Sarah Sundin weaves the love of God and the faith and trust we must have in Him into every book she writes, and her gift for details is wonderful. I am blessed everytime I read a book by Sarah.

A Wonderful Story About Having Faith in God!

I loved When Leaves Fall in Paris by this author so I immediately wanted to read another book by her. This book started out just as interesting and captivating as I had hoped for. I loved the premise for the story in terms of the anonymous corresponding. I appreciated the difficulties the main characters experienced in terms of trying to fit in. However, the story line dragged on too long. By the last two hours I just had it on half listening waiting for it to be over.
The taunting Tom received was more like playground bullies than grown men. I feel the author could have portrayed his negative past and their reaction to it in a less childish way and it would have been more believable /relatable. I half expected him to come back with the old "Sticks and stones..." it was that childish.
Mellie was a good character and her insecurities were initially understandable, but again her concerns about not fitting in went from a problem that many young women may have been able to relate to, to a continuous whine about it that just makes you want to slap her!

I would still recommend the book however as it was overall enjoyable if it could have wrapped up about two hours sooner than it did. I thought the narrator did a wonderful job with all the different characters.
