Publisher's summary

There is something in the forest around L’Ange that is making the animals nervous. In fact, they are running by Tucker Flynn’s windows at all hours of the night and day and no matter what anyone says, it isn’t normal. Of course, neither is Tucker being stuck on the sprawling grounds of the shifter sanctuary in Maine, in the dead of winter. He just wants to go back to Phoenix...if only his alpha would let him.

Tired of his concerns being dismissed, or worse, told that he’s flat-out wrong, Tucker sets out on his own, despite a broken ankle, to find proof of his suspicion - that there’s an apex predator, something far more menacing than any shifter at L’Ange, skulking in the woods behind his cabin.

When everything goes sideways during his search, and he ends up passing out while staring into the face of a giant elk, only to wake up days later on a bed of furs, gazing into the eyes of the most gorgeous man he’s ever seen, the course of Tucker’s life changes in an instant. He has just found his mate. Now all he has to do is accept that he’s not the loser he’s always believed he was.

Funny how quickly everything can shift, like day to knight.

A lovely little addition to the series

I loved the L'Ange series, the charactrs are so much fun to follow. From alpha-y to priggish to sweet to scoially awkward to bad-ass - Mary Calmes covers all the personality bases. I love that poor, semi-discarded Tucker is feeling out of place, maligned and supurflous. While recovering from an injury and a tad pissy, he goes off to prove that he's not crazy and finds a mythological miracle, who is smoking hot. Love, understanding, passion and self-reflection give a lovely HEA.

Needs more

For a quick listen it's good. Seems like a quick wrap up of the series. Wanted more details about other character's lives.
Like Phoenix tribe needs full time alfa. Also how does Tucker's new mate get along with everyone else. Love MC have most of her stuff, but this left me wanting more.

solid 3.5 stars - just because it was too short

I've really enjoy this series in audio, and it was nice to have another one so long after Book 3 was released - I would have liked it to be longer though - it had the potential to be another full length novel and I enjoyed it, it was just that everything happened really fast.

The change of narrator was disappointing at first, but as with any good narrator, Nick Russo did a great job and it only took a chapter or two before I was completely absorbed in the story.

Delightful

A wonderful conclusion to the L’Ange series, even though it’s a short story, I wish it had been longer.

Wish it was the same narrator

Love that Tucker got his own story I just wish it was the same Narrator. A lot of names are pronounced wrong and obviously they don’t sound the same. I also wish the story was longer but that’s just because I love this series!

Mary Calmes is the best

My only disappointment about this story is that it is so short. This series is my very favorite of Mary’s books and I have listened to these books over and over, never tiring. Am just so disappointed this book was so short. It feels like it ended just as if got started. Bummer!

Wonderful!

I love this series and these characters. I was worried about the new narrator, but after just a couple minutes I was so in grossed in the wonderful story Nick just became part of it. Winter’s Knight could have been a couple hours longer to give the reader/listener more specifics of the new shifter on the grounds. Please Mary more L’ange with all your creative details!

I loved the story when I read it. I lived it now.

Mr. Russo's performance brought this amazing story to life, and made the story I enjoyed reading become something more. How he slid from one voice to another, one accent to another, enthralled me.

Loved it!

I loved this story! Great story and great narrator! But you'll enjoy the story most og you have read the other L'Ange books. If I should say anything negative then it would be that I wish the story was longer, because I didn't want to leave Tucker and Keir.
