Really enjoyed book 1...
Book two takes off quickly and then assumes that we readers have no retention skills. Repetitive use of the terms describing what are essentially vampires. For example tell us what an Athenate is and move on. This and many others were over used making it hard to finish even though it was a short listen. Not likely to seek out additional sequels just based on that.

Read before you start “Inside Straight”
OK it all makes sense now. I would suggest reading the 2 novella’s: “The Biting Cold” and this one, “Winter’s Kiss” before you read the new Bite Back Book 6, “Inside Straight”. It all ties in perfectly together and satisfies my ADDidness!!

Essential reading for the Bite Back series
Winter's Kiss is part 2 of the Bite Back Outsiders series. Here, the story of Dr Amanda Lloyd gets exciting as she flees from an assassin with her injured kin. Amanda has lost touch with the Athanate because of her amnesia which puts her in a dangerous position of ignorance. She struggles to grasp the profound changes that are taking place in the supernatural world that will no longer allow her to live independently as she had before. Who can she ally with and can she save the life of her kin?
Amanda is not a warrior like Amber or Yelena, but is instead a psychiatrist who has been living as a human. I really like her new kin and hope we will see more of them. Amanda brings several new potential assets to Amber's already strong clan. Can't wait to see how that plays out! So, hurry up and finish Bite Back 6, Mark Henwick! Thanks for the novella fix while we are waiting for Inside Straight.
