Selene DiSilva, goddess of the hunt, squares off against a killer who threatens the very existence of the gods themselves in this stunning sequel to Jordanna Max Brodsky's The Immortals, "a lively re-imaging of classical mythology." (Deborah Harkness)

Winter in New York: snow falls, lights twinkle, and a very disgruntled Selene DiSilva prowls the streets, knowing that even if she doesn't look for trouble, it always finds her.

When a dead body is discovered sprawled atop Wall Street's iconic Charging Bull statue, it's up to Selene to hunt down the perpetrators. Her ancient skills make her the only one who can track a conspiracy that threatens the very existence of the gods, including Selene, who was once known as Artemis.

This is the second book in the series it was as good as the first maybe a bit better. Brodsky truly did a fantastic writing job the story was well rounded full of twist and turns one of the best mysteries I've read. I just love a book that keeps you guessing too the end. Throw in a bit of romance and a handful of Greek God's that have been long forgotten put them in the here and now and you have a very good book. The narration done by Brodsky/Petkoff was literally out of this world. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED you listen to the book instead of reading it. Great world, building, mythology, mystery, romance, laughs, and characters you'll love a story you can't put down. What more can you ask for.

Although some reviewers have thought this book to be not as good as the first, I totally disagree. This one seemed to me to be deeper and built on things from the "Imortals. " I think perhaps other readers disliked the ending. I think it's just getting started. I had purchased "Olympus Bound" before realizing there was this, a second book, so now I'm excited to get to it.
My hope is that this will be a series that will continue for a long time with more from Selene and Theo as they continue their journey.

Also thanks for the references. Please continue to include them with the Audible Editions.

I loved this mythic fiction. I love that the author gives voice to Artemis or saline love the tension between the characters and I delighted in the switchbacks between all the mythical gods. and the fact that Mithraism was brought into the context of this book was fantastic

Would you listen to Winter of the Gods again? Why?

Probably not, while a good story it did not draw me in like the first book.

Any additional comments?

There was not enough character development. While i liked the book it seemed to be almost the same story as the first book.

Entertaining, Good Sequel

Mythology in modern times, the book and content is well researched (and fiction Alize's for modern times but full of information that drew me in so deep that I stopped reading to look up the info online before proceeding). You can tell the author poured herself into the books!
