?????

I loved the book until the very end. The suspense builds for the truth to his death and who he worked for. And the mysteriousness of the disappearance of the company. None of that is ever revealed. I was extremely disappointed.

What???!!!

This story just ENDED....without having anything resolved. It was so abruptly just OVER that I thought there was something wrong with my download. I'm SO angry I wasted all that time listening....and then just POOF.....over like mid-sentence.

It didnt seem finished..

I have read this author before and was excited to read this book. The narration was great and the book was good right up until it ended. It just left you hanging. No ending . The mystery was never resolved. She left lots of strands just dangling. Sometimes that is okay but not here. She didn't clear up the central question of the book. I looked at the time remaining on my book while I was listening and I was on chapter 31 of 31. I couldn't believe it. It felt like she had just introduced all of the characters. I truthfully thought I was about 1/2 to 3/4 done. It was like her publisher was ready and she just quit writing and turned it in.
It could've been a great book had she finished. The point of a mystery to me is to untangle the web.

Excellent

I usually listen to about 12 books each month. This book is the BEST book I have listened to in years! I can't wait for the next one.

Don't waste your credit.

Very disappointed. Character dialog was unimaginative and basic. Could have been so much more descriptive and interesting. I lost track of the times "He said" and "she said" was used and it was back to back within the same conversation. Very poorly written.

Sequel?

Enjoyed the story but I wanted the ending to have answers, instead now waiting for the next book.

The book ends in mid-sentence.<br />

The story is ok, even interesting, but it ends in mid-air, very strange. A whole chapter, or part, is missing.

Elin, I Want a Sequel, Yesterday!

I have very much enjoyed Elin Hilderbrand's books, including this one. This is my 14th Hilderbrand book here at Audible. Nantucket, and occasionally that other nearby Island that we won't name, are terrific locales in all the previous books.

In this novel we again have an island locale, mostly St John in the Virgin Islands. What makes this book different aside from the move from New England to VI and all that it implies (weather, food, music demographics and attitude), is the fact that lots remains unresolved for each of the characters. They are all still trying to figure out what they want to do next. Also, aspects of the mystery central to the book is still unresolved and there is a cliff hanger at the end.

Hilderbrand hasn't done a book series before (that I know of) but I think there are sufficient number if issues left hanging for the central characters and a number of secrets that are left unrevealed to warrant a sequel. Not to mention the figurative (will it turn out to be a literal one?) bomb dropped on the last page.

Elin, how fast can your write? This eager reader wants to know.

One of Elin's best

This seems different from all of the Elin Hilderbrand's books I have read and loved. Great storyline and location.
