This is the 2nd book in a 3 book series. I enjoyed this one just as much as the first. Excited for the 3rd.

Doesn't Need to be 3 Books

I didn't realize that I'd have to listen to 3 books to get to the ending - and that the 3rd book is yet to be written! It's not a bad story, but I'm ready for a conclusion.

Love these characters and especially St. John! I can just imagine it all. Great reference to restaurants and places in the BVI

Guilty pleasure

While this is not intellectual literature it is the best of its genre. Fun to listen to, and like taking an audible vacation in St. John’s. I enjoyed this series quite a bit!

Part two was pretty good.

OK, you have my curiosity going with this series, and it bugs more than just a little that I have to wait for a number of months to find out what happens to these characters. Had I known, I probably wouldn't have started the series until the third book was written. I might lose interest in finding out the answers by the time the last book is published.

Part 2 not stand alone

WHAT HAPPENS IN PARADISE, the second of Elin Hilderbrand’s series set in the Caribbean islands, kept me engaged in most of the story. Unlike most series I read, I wasn’t able to go back and read book #1. Still, I fell right back in with the characters and plot.

Few writers create multidimensional characters with sympathetic backstories as well as Hilderbrand. My favorite is family matriarch Irene, who is not without flaws.

WHAT HAPPENS IN PARADISE didn’t have a stand alone plot. Mostly the book seemed to move characters forward to what should be an interesting end of the series next year. WHAT HAPPENS IN PARADISE wouldn’t be a satisfying stand alone book.

I didn’t rate WHAT HAPPENS IN PARADISE higher because it didn’t have an ending, only cliffhangers. I didn’t feel satisfied and don’t feel like I’ll be counting the months until the series finale next year.

Great book!

You must listen to the entire series. Fun and intriguing! I highly recommend this series.

Make sure you read all three

This is a great book, but it is part of a trilogy. Make sure to read “Winter in Paradise” first.
