Good book
I bought this book because I enjoyed the spoken mage series. While this book did not grab me the same way the spoken mage and hidden mage did, I still enjoyed the story. I may yet purchase the next book to continue the series.

Couldn't put it down
I listen while at work overnights, I normally love more adult romances when it comes to novels instead of manga. These books are the fantasy shojos of american novels and I love Melanie's work. suffering from depression and thinking that the world is dark enough, I crave happily ever after is like these. Well I assume this is going to be a happily ever after, considering her other books. And man! How does she keep creating unique Magic systems?! So much fun to hear the rules and how our beloved characters might break them. Her books so far have ALL been a good read/listen. Can't recommend her enough! Oh and this book of course. I wanna know what happens to Nick and Delphine in the future. How else does she use her power? How does Nick redeem himself? How do they work out? Can't wait to read the rest!

I loved the author and listened avidly to The Spoken Mage series, but could not listen to it for long.
Needs a new narrator. Her voice is too monotone and high pitched for it to sound natural.

The main character spends to whole book blaming her father and what he might of held back from her. Let it go!!
