Publisher's summary

Second grade teacher Becca Haddaway is weeks away from walking down the aisle with her high school sweetheart when she learns that the Heron Island Elementary School is about to be shut down. Knowing that losing the school would devastate the fragile island community, Becca pushes aside her wedding plans to save it. But the one man who can help her is determined to make her question every decision she has ever made - including the man she's about to marry.

Former Navy SEAL Colin Foley is finally starting to feel whole again after losing his leg on a career-ending deployment in Afghanistan. After struggling for months to figure out what to do with his post-military life, he's found a new mission - opening a rehab center for wounded veterans on the peaceful Chesapeake Bay island. All he needs now is a woman to share his new life with...and he knows exactly who he wants.

With a little help from the island's magical wind chimes, can Colin convince Becca to change her mind before it's too late?

another beautiful romance on Heron Island

This is a beautifully written story, full of emotionally charged moments, powerful descriptions and a feel good vibe that will reach your heart from the start and never let go. I didn't think I would love another story as much as I loved book one, but the author managed to make me change my mind. I adored Colin and Becca's story as much as I did Will and Annie's. I hope the author will write many more books in this series because I truly love Heron Island and its residents. This is an ideal pick for lovers of small-town romance with emotions playing the most important part. The author doesn't need to resort to graphic sex scenes to make the reader feel the chemistry and love between the characters and I admire her for that. I enjoyed the story that much more because of it.

Heartwarming veteran story!

Any additional comments?

Wind Chime Wedding written by Sophie Moss is a wonderful and heartwarming contemporary romance with a military hero! This book begins not long after the first book ends on Heron Island, a small residential island in the Chesapeake Bay, Maryland. It was so nice to see many familiar faces from the first book, Wind Chime Cafe, which is not surprising considering the setting is primarily set on an island that has a total population of 200 residents year round. Cafe owner Annie and her fiancé Will (who are still not married) make a few appearances in the story. And the ending of this book is so satisfying on many fronts!

Wind Chime Wedding centers on second grade teacher Becca Haddaway who is only a few weeks away from marrying her high school sweetheart after 16 years of being engaged, and moving to Washington, DC. Distracting her from her wedding plans is a fight to keep the school she loves so dearly open. Not only does she teach there, she attended the school as a child, and she teaches in the same classroom that her deceased mother taught in 16 years before. Simply put, she loves living on Heron Island and doesn't want to move away from it and all of her friends. Thankfully, she is finally starting to have second thoughts (as if being engaged for 16 years wasn't enough).

Helping Becca in her cause to save the school is former Navy SEAL Colin Foley who arranges a meeting between Becca and his father, the current Maryland governor. Colin has been living on Heron Island for the past year renovating an old inn and converting it into a veteran's center for wounded soldiers. Colin's backstory is just heartbreaking. Besides losing his leg serving his country, he lost a finance the day he got back from war, and his mother blames him for the death of his younger brother who died in military service "following in his footsteps." Colin's mother is just downright nasty and she tries to sabotage the veteran's center by trying to taint the funds supporting it. I hope she rots in jail!

Hollis McCarthy narrated this story and I was thoroughly entertained by her performance. Her narration flows naturally at an even pace and she was easy to listen to. She has differing voices for all characters, male and female, and young and old. Hollis exhibits the right amount of worry, exasperation, and yearning in all the right places. I cannot recommend this book enough!

Pure Sophie Moss - yay!

What a pleasure to hear another Heron Island romance unfold! After having established the underlying setting and the storyline in the first book, Wind Chime Cafe, Sophie Moss builds on our familiarity with the characters and draws us in even more. At times the plot was a bit predictable, but there were enough twists and turns and artful details to keep it fresh and interesting to the very end. I am hopeful there will be more Wind Chime books in this series! Hollis McCarthy gives us another outstanding narration with an easy-to-listen-to voice.

Another beautiful love story by Sophie Moss

What made the experience of listening to Wind Chime Wedding the most enjoyable?

Sophia Moss and Hollis McCarthy are a perfect combination for listening a wonderful book. This story too, in a small island, a woman who almost got married to the man who thought was the love of her life, until she meets the LOVE OF HER LIFE. Full of romance, the second one in the series, lovely as the first one.

What about Hollis McCarthy’s performance did you like?

I really adore Hollis McCarthy's voice, she is sweet and gives extra romance and love feeling in every book she narrates.

Enjoyable series

Wind Chime Cafe and Wind Chime Wedding are light romances that end well. Just what I look for when I need a "feel good" book. Along the same lines are the Carolina series by Virginia Kantra and series by Alison Kent (and deliciously narrated by Natalie Ross). Kindle Unlimited members get this one at a bargain price. Definitely worth it!
