Publisher's summary

Her power-hungry husband takes pleasure in her pain, but she's done playing the victim.

Three years ago, ex-operative Sophie Jordan made the mistake of falling in love - and marrying - her target. Now she's paying for it tenfold. Her husband might be one of the sexiest men alive, but he's also a psychopath. She's been a virtual prisoner, and the time has come for retribution - and escape.

Undercover agent Malcolm Gunnison has his orders: get intel from Sophie's arms-dealer husband, then kill him. He plans to get rid of her, too, if she gets in his way, but he's unprepared when she gets under his skin instead. Whose side is she on? And what is she hiding behind those mesmerizing eyes?

Sophie vowed to never fall for another man again, but this sexy undercover agent is different. With danger mounting, can Malcolm and Sophie trust each other - and their growing passion - enough to get out of this operation alive?

Unnecessary use of F@@@

I like the stories in this series. However there was to much time talking to themselves about the same thing in this book.
In all three books the F@@@ word was used constantly as well as other profanity. It ruined the book for me. Not a fan of the narrator, she reads like she is angry all the time. But maybe that is a character flaw either way it was not a pleasant to hear.

Another good one

I read a lot of historical fiction so I like to switch it up with this type of book.
I enjoyed the series.

not her best

The narrator had a bad English accents, and not the best story line for Anne Stuart.

Anne Stuart writes superb suspense!

I thoroughly enjoy Anne Stuart’s suspense, drama, romance stories. She puts an interesting twist on things. Her series are profound; deeply entertaining keeping me awake to learn what’s next. This fire series is outstanding and I anxiously await continued stories in this series.

Do Not Waste Your Your Money.

There is not much to say here because there is no story. I enjoyed the characters in the first book of this series and wanted to read another book, but this one just fell way too short.

The Heroine was too forgiving

I was disappointed. The prior books were exciting both in the pace of the plot and in the actual development of the plot. This one wasn’t developed that well and the Committee was disappointing as an intelligence organization.
I liked Sophia’s tenacity and grit. She resolved to get her mission completed even after 2 years in captivity. Malcom was a jerk and Sophia let him back in way too easily.
I don’t care for this one l.

Wild Fire

On a private island with a badass heroine and a more traditional hero, Anne Stuart creates a passionate and claustrophobic thriller.

Another Great Narrative and Narration!!

Anne Stuart does it again. Stuart writes for the intelligent reader. The Heroine is strong, educated, has endured emotional loss and yet, perseveres through, while living an independent life. However, Stuart is honest. Stuart depicts women as we truly are: our insecurities with body image, striving to please perfectionistic parents, failed relationships yet most of all, the vulnerability which lies in each of us when it all seems to be too much and we so desire to have strong arms to hold us while we let flow a good cry. The narration is first class talent as usual and I commend Stuart for her careful choice in the narrator she chooses for her novels. We the reader are never disappointed. A reader can always be certain without first listening to a sample that each and every audiobook narration is performed brilliantly!!!
