Publisher's summary

He’ll risk everything to keep her.

He’s going from military hero to bodyguard? Well, that might not be so bad. But then Fergus meets the woman he’s hired to protect. A former teen pop star? Please God, no.

After a lifetime of being taken advantage of, Aubrey is very good at relying on only herself, while pushing people away. But her sexy, dominant bodyguard’s need for complete control is impossible to resist. Who is she to complain when he insists on being much, much closer than arm’s length?

And keeping the sexy hero close isn’t such a bad idea, considering she’s attracted the attention of a dangerous stalker who’ll do whatever it takes to claim her as his own.

Wild Fire

This is the seventh book in the Wilder Irish series. Fergus owns a security/ private investigation company. He gets asked to take a job for two months. He agrees to help promote his company. Aubrey is a diva singer that use to be a childhood tv star. She has mile long reputation. Fergus is hired to be her personal bodyguard. At first she lives up to her diva reputation. But then time slowly reveals the real Aubrey. She is actually a scared woman that has never been treated with respect or compassion. She even was treated poorly by her own mother. This is a fast and easy with a dash of spicy listen. Lee Daniels and Connor Brown did a great job narrating.

Truth or Dare

Fergus and Aubrey get off to a rocky start when he starts being her bodyguard. Aubrey has every reason not to trust people and she develops a lot throughout the book. Fergus has the patience of a saint but he gets a HEA. I love the family/supporting characters and enjoyed figuring out who the stalker was. Overall, it was a quick listen and I enjoyed it.

4 stars

this is my first audiobook by this author and I found it to be quite enjoyable both story and narrators did a great job. Would I have picked the book to read first? Probably not as I did find the story to be a bit predictable and too cheesy for me.

Love The Prologue, and It Just Gets Better

A young Fergus plays with his grandfather, introducing us to our hero and his family. So sweet and attaches us to Fergus immediately.
Our introduction to our heroine, Aubrey, not so sweet, but it doesn’t take long to understand her self protection…which our hero breaks through.
Romance, action, suspense, betrayal (that Aubrey has endured from those close to her in the past) and steam. The perfect romance with narrators that hit the mark perfectly with emotion, timing and accent.
A winner.

taboo romance

Aubrey has always been in the limelight by her pushy domineering mother.
From a child star, now a pop star her mom managed her career and stole millions from her.
Now Aubrey has lost trust in the people around her. She keeps up a front and doesn't get close to anyone.
She has a stalker , she plays it off as a overzealous fan and doesn't take it seriously.
Fergus , ex military, and has his own security company.
He is now Her bodyguard.
They butt heads on her safety. But when danger gets too close she takes it seriously.
Fergus tries so hard not to show his true feelings towards her. she is his client. But, things get heated up between them while she is on tue
Connor Brown and Lee Daniels narration is very good. I enjoyed listening to this audio.

Wild Fire

Wild Fire is the 7th book in the Wilder Irish Series. This book could be read/listened to as a standalone. This book is about Aubrey and Fergus and is told from both of their points of view.

Aubrey is a famous singer, and Fergus is her new bodyguard. Aubrey has a stalker and Fergus is stuck to her like glue 24/7. Aubrey isn't used to having this kind of attention on her and isn't sure about how she feels.

With them together so many feelings are bound to appear. Can Fergus keep her safe when the secrets from the stalker come out? Can Aubrey put her heart on the line again, after everything that happened to her in the past came out?

I really enjoyed this book. The banter between the two characters was great. They were both strong-willed and wouldn't give up on what they believed in. I would love to read more books in this series.

Captivating and Suspenseful

Fergus and Aubrey were together! Their story is emotional with plenty of steam, mystery and suspense. Aubrey was a little bratty at times, but it was great to see her true nature come out. Fergus is the perfect bodyguard and exactly what Aubrey needs. I love the development of their relationship. This is a great addition to the series!

This was a quick listen that was very enjoyable. The narrators were fantastic. Lee Daniels was amazing as Aubrey as she was able to portray her personality perfectly. I loved Connor Brown! He was perfect as Fergus and I loved his accents.

Excellent Story & Narration🎧Riveting & Heartfelt!

“Wild Fire” is an amazing romance novel and a fabulous addition to Mari Carr’s “Wilder Irish” series. Being a huge fan of rock star romance novels I was looking forward to this book and Mari Carr does not disappoint with her unique spin of a rock star body guard romance and best of all it is set in her “Wilder Irish” world so we get some more grandfatherly words of wisdom from PopPop. Fergus Collins spent his last nine years in the military serving his county, but he is back home ready to start a career and security company. Before getting the company off the ground, he gets an offer he can not refuse, a gig as a security guard for a former pop start, Jenny Sweet, now rock start Aubrey Summers. She has a stalker who is threatening those close to her, he if solves that case, he gets another bonus. Problem is Aubrey does not want a security guard, she also has trust issues and a bratty attitude. Fergus sees right through her attitude that she uses it as a wall of defense, not allowing anyone to get close to her. Having her act down pat, he figures out a way to gain control of the situation and when her defenses are down, he likes what he sees. The chemistry between these two was sparks flying electric, and it was great to watch their relationship morph into more. I will admit I did not care for Aubrey and her attitude in the beginning, but she redeems herself and when she sees what a family could really be like, she was in awe, with that and with PopPop. I loved how everything played out in this book, the writing, plotting and world building is fantastic, as is the character growth and development. Besides the charming Collin’s moments, there is plenty of drama, a touch of angst, some mystery, thrilling and suspenseful moments, heartfelt emotions and steamy romance. Mari Carr, thank you for another wonderful story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧   As for the narration, Lee Daniels' and Connor Brown's outstanding performances continue to bring the characters to life. In addition to having consistent character voices, the audio quality of their recordings has been excellent. I love how they take each role and make it their own, sounding believable and just as I picture the characters to sound. Lee Daniels nailed it as Aubrey brought out all aspects of her personality, from her bratty side to her caring side. Connor Brown played Fergus’ role perfectly, grasping his inner Alpha naturally. Both were equally amazing performing the various secondary roles, accents and all. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and had you feeling them all. These entertaining storytellers are a pleasure to listen to and their narration enhances an already fantastic story to another level. Thank you for another wonderful listen.
