First day back at school. I am going to 100% nail being a school mummy this year. I can totally do this. Yes, this year is definitely going to be much better – I am absolutely not going to shout at the children, let them stuff their faces with crisps or goggle away on the iPad. It is Mummy’s 39th birthday. She is staring down the barrel of a future of people asking if she wants to come to their advanced yoga classes, and polite book clubs where everyone claims to be tiddly after a glass of Pinot Grigio and says things like ‘Oooh gosh, are you having another glass?’

But Mummy does not want to go quietly into that good night of women with sensible haircuts who ‘live for their children’ and stand in the playground trying to trump each other with their offspring’s extracurricular activities and achievements, and boasting about their latest holidays.

Soundtrack of My Life

If you change the narrator to a black woman from the south then this would basically be the soundtrack of my life. Why Mummy Drinks makes me feel so much less crazy but simultaneously makes me realize how crazy I look to everyone else all at once. But I love this book and I absolutely recommend it to Mums everywhere. Turns out we're all a little nuts.

So freaking hilarious

Now I have a new way of cussing thanks to this book, FML and FFS is so much better than my way before, thanks to Helen now I have perfect excuse for when people ask me why I have no kids,( well because I can't stand them ).This book is incredibly entertaining more than what I was expecting I must confess I'm not fan of books that involved kids and moms and all of that since I can't relate and I don't have that baby fever every woman my age seems to have , if you looking for a little bit of fun listening or reading this is totally the one. And one more thing it's not so much suspense and drama like in other books that sometimes its just exasperating and monotonous.

Could listen to this eleventybillion times!

If you are an imperfect mom, wife, or friend listen on. Ellen is as real and funny as they come. I don’t re-listen to many books in my library but I go back to this one weekly and still have laugh out loud moments. I cant wait for Why Mummy Swears to be released!
