As I walk through the front door of my daughter Scarlett's house, looking forward to the birthday lunch we have planned, nothing can prepare me what I see. Another great story from Kerry

I love all of Kerry Fisher’s books. The stories are great and the characters are so relatable. This story really makes you think about what you might do in Jackie’s position. The narration is perfect too. I love Emma’s storytelling voice. I’m going to listen to this one again soon!

Engaging from the start

Another great read from this author. The central conflict of the book was something I felt viscerally. It's a super engaging read, and one that I was very happy to spend the credit on.

Very Emotional

This book summoned up a lot of emotions, both good and bad. I have never been a mother, but I am a widow who remarried almost 10 years ago. I found myself crying my eyes out over Liam's death. There were uplifting moments as well, though. It is definitely worth a listen!

All the feels of motherhood and friendship

For those looking for a heart pounding thriller, this is not it. However, if you are a mother of adult children, or nearly adult children, who has found that your dreams for them often times morph into something that shocks or even disappoints you, this is for you.

Im not spoiling anything because the plot in this book is different, but when I found out my 18-year-old daughter was pregnant 2 days before we were set to head to college orientation, my world flipped upside down. I wanted so badly for her to explore the world, to get to know herself and enjoy her youth. I felt so much guilt for all the ways I was imagining I had let her down. I began drinking too much… temporarily so unhappy In my marriage and unsure of myself as mother. Like the mother in this book, I worried that my failures, as spread out as they may have been, would overshadow all the ways I had loved and cared for my family.

But much like the characters in this book, we all grew stronger by embracing her pregnancy and all that came with it…. most importantly a precious baby boy that we all adore, including his 2 teenage uncles. I could completely relate with Jackie and the beautiful way she spoke about their new baby and the love she felt for him & the second chance she got to enjoy what she hadn’t been able to the first time. And I double down on all of her remarks about adult female friendships… they have saved me over the past 2 years.

I only include all of this to say that I found this book extremely inspirational… All of the characters were put very challenging situations, and in the end, they handled it all with such grace and humility, which we are ALL capable of when we put pride and judgement away.

This author writes wonderful books and ms. Hussy does a great job narrating. I just wish she wrote faster. LOL

What would you do

I love kerry fisher! I was so excited to read her newest release. She has such an amazing knack at capturing conversations and emotions of her characters that makes you feel like you are in the room feeling all they are feeling. A story about trust friendship loyalty and love for our family that leaves you asking if you would have done the same or anything different.

What a catchy storyline!

I am a big fan of Kerry Fischer. I have listened to several of her books. I found this storyline to be dramatic and fun to listen to. As always, I love the narrator. A very fun read!

Let me start by saying KF never writes a bad book

… but I wish that they would use more than one narrator for these split POV’s. I enjoy ESH but she can ONLY do “motherly character in her late 40’s -50’s” … her voice never changes so it’s easy to slip up and miss who’s supposed to be talking. However, love the story. This would never stop me from buying her books immediately after they’re released. Just a thought after listening to them all with the same narrator.
