Publisher's Summary

My name is Lennox Brooks, and I'll admit I've made a lot of mistakes. I don't take the big risks, I cover my insecurities with snark, I've shown my crazy a few more times than I would've liked, and I've been trying and failing at love pretty much since I first grew tits. Weirdos, mama's boys, the over-coiffed, and underwhelming, I've been out with them all, just read my blog. I've got horror stories that would curl your toes and singe your nose hairs, but none of them compare to the toad who started it all: Ellis Walker.

He was the boy next door, the charming, infuriatingly gorgeous one who broke my heart and disappeared without a trace. Now, he's back and determined to throw my life into chaos, dredging up painful memories just when things were getting good.

But the thing is there are always two sides to every story. I've spent the better part of my life hating him for everything he put me through, but without that resentment clouding my judgment, how will I ever resist him?

Love is complicated, appearances are deceiving, and sometimes, you have to kiss a whole lot of frogs before finding your prince.

Cute Frienemies to Lovers romance

This is one of my favorite sub-genres and this book is a great addition to my rom-com collection. It has the perfect mix of witty banter, funny inner monologues, and drama. Samantha Harris did an amazing job with this story and I cannot wait to read more.

The narration was really good. I enjoyed Heather's multiple voices and cannot wait to hear what other ones she has.

Such a fun story! Great acting!

I read most of this through the audio book, and then finished reading the last few chapters (I was driving when I started!)

Both the author and narrator were new to me.

They both left me wanting to read/listen to more!

Samantha Harris has a quick witted, fun, way of writing a story. Great character development, great arc, and an overall great idea.

My only minor flip, was the blog posts. It took me several chapters to reconcile that it wasn’t running concurrently with the story itself. This didn’t take away from the story, but did leave me mildly kerfuffled for a bit.

Heather Firth did an absolutely amazing job with this book. Each character was easily discernible, consistent, and full of personality. I throughly enjoyed listening to her read this! I can’t wait to experience more of her narrations.

Even after she received an explanation of why.. but it all turned out ok.. and overall this was a really good listen! Heather does a great job bringing this book too life and I loved the opportunity to listen and review this one! 👍

Cute and funny

A bit of a cliche start, but then the humor hooked me, especially the blog posts and the frog metaphors. There were many laugh out loud moments. The dates of the blog posts do NOT coincide with the timing of the story which confused me at first. Also, a bit too much profanity for my taste, but it was realistic and not a deal breaker for me reading the book. The narrator was mostly good, but her male character voice was annoying to listen to and all the men sounded the same which made it tricky at times. Female voices were surprisingly distinct, so brava.

DNF

I tried to finish this book, but just couldn't. There was only one character in the whole book that I actually liked - and he was not one of the main characters. The hero is a jerk, the heroine is a doormat, the friends pfft.....

My Two Pennies

Narration wise, I was hooked. Heather Firth did a great job not wanting me to ever hit pause. 3.8 A quirky, lighthearted read. Overall I enjoyed this story and Lennox getting her thoughts out on her personal blog page, very relatable. There were moments were my interest was fading but over all I thought the will she won’t she between the guys was good. The characters all had their own personalities and blended together well. I’m happy I continued through to the end because you’re guaranteed a HEA.

Another chance to listen to Heather Firth

I enjoyed the book but had trouble at times with Lennox carrying on about how Ellis had treated her in school while she crushed over him. But that’s what brings the story to life, Lennox was finding herself and looking for love with her blog as her release.

I was thinking maybe she should have approached Sawyer to suggest a friendship sooner since she felt no sparks from him. But that’s what made the story interesting, Lennox finding herself. I really enjoyed the secondary love story that becomes with her two best friends and you do feel for her through the book.

I’m still impressed with Heather Firth’s narration and feel she brings stories to life.

I was provided this audiobook for my honest opinion, and it’s a cute story done by a fabulous narrator. Worth your time to get ahold of and spend the time with. 4.5 stars.

Not what I expected! Good read!

Lennox is an editor assistant who was wronged by her childhood crush Ellis. She has gone through the ringer with her dates since and well, she decides to write a blog about it. When Ellis comes back to town she has conflicted feelings. Meaning she hates him. Then Sawyer comes swooping in and he is perfect. So what will Lennox do? It’s a fun way to look at the dating game but also a lesson on letting go. Lennox took her sweet time to let go and that put me off a bit but not much. Drama drama drama!

Blog Post # Dating Horror Stories!

whole lotta FROGS by Samantha Harris is absolutely cleverly designed & written with a perfect cover & title.
Ellis Walker and Lennox Brooks adorable romance is blended with crazy banter and humour that keeps you giggling through the entire listen. Lennox Brooks dating woes is told in a arrangement chapter then blog post about that chapter like a diary tell all. Drama filled angst like the old saying says you have to to date a whole lot of frogs to find/realize who your prince charming is. Supporting character's accentuate & bring so much more character to the story. I adored the smart & sassy, yet stubborn characteristics of Lennox and the sweet & swoon worthy ones of Ellis. Overall, a light, fun & hilarious listen. I definitely plan on listening to this one again.
Narrator Heather Firth's performance was flawless. The tone and pace flows through smoothly. Her performance brings it into a real life experience.

This was a cute story about looking for love in all the wrong places. It stressed the valuable lesson of going for what you want and not playing the victim in life! It also stressed that celebration of someone else’s fortunes doesn’t make you any less fortunate! Samantha Harris did a great job of bringing to light the importance of love and caring for others! Heather Firth did a good job of narrating!

Funny and addictive

Lennox! What a character! ... The frogs she had to kiss (and tell! Great Blog! Brutal!)
Samantha Harris wove a fantastic story with a good backing of characters to support Lennox’s crazy/insecure/self deprecating one. Tightly woven friends and family and those frogs! Too funny!
I loved Heather Firth’s voice for this book she characterised perfectly and brought Lennox’s snark and crazy shining through!
A great listen I would definitely recommend this one, such a spirit lifter.

DO NOT JUDGE THIS BOOK BY ITS COVER!

This has been one of the greatest listens for me this year. Do not judge it by the cover! That is just in regards to the heroine's blog. It is so hilarious I was laughing out loud most of the time. Ellis is definitely the type of "frog" I'd kiss in search of Prince Charming!

so cute and funny!

I'm a huge fan of 2nd chance romance and this one really was wonderful to listen to. Heather Firth is a fantastic narrator! I recommend this story if you want a laugh out loud slow burn romance. I loved Lennox, she is so relatable! Totally stubborn and on a journey where her emotions are out of control. Ellis is lovable and his persistence is admirable. Secondary characters add to the fun- recommended beach read!

Cute and angsty story

My first Samantha Harris book.
The boy she crushed on in high school, who broke her heart and left without even a goodbye has returned and Lennox isn't very happy about it.
Ellis - the boy next door left who without saying anything and has returned home and has his sights set on Lennox.

Great banter, sexy fun angst and a little love triangle that will keep you listening without a break! I had this book playing for hours on end to see how this would all work out!

A great slow burn story that left with a huge smile on my face.

I loved the narration and Heather Firth WAS Lennox for me!

Kissing frogs to find your prince

I liked the concept of the book and the blog the heroine had about her misandventures with those frogs she had kissed.
On the other hand I found Lennox's stubbornness a bit annoying and let me just say Ellis's behaviour wasn't one I would have appreciated in real life either. Despite me not being able to fully identify with either of the characters it was still an entertaining story. I loved the cover though so extra brownie points for that.

Heather Firth's narration was very good she did a great job with this audio. I liked what she made of this book.

Fun slow burn romance

I grabbed this book because I loved the cover and title but the story and narration didn't disappoint either. The set up of blog posts through out the story were both fun and insightful and the various "frogs" she encounters were as well. I liked the slow burn between Lennox and Ellis, and I thought Ellis was a lot of fun. The supporting characters all added a lot of great content to the story. I thing that maybe her scared, hesitation was played out just a little too long and could have been cut a chapter or two shorted and that would have given us a little more time to not feel like the resolution scene was so rushed. Other than that I really enjoyed the story and thought it was a great read.
The narration was was great and matched both characters perfectly!

Fun, cute, quirky second chance romance

This was such a cute, fun, quirky second chance romance. Great story and characters. I loved how Lennox documented her dating escapades. I didn't know if Lennox would get out of her own way and take a chance on Ellis.
This story and narration drew me right in and I hated when it ended and I had to leave these characters. New author for me and I loved her writing style. Will be checking out more of her stories.
Great narration which added to my overall enjoyment of this story.
