Fantastic!

I loved this book as a child. It was wonderful - beautifully read. I listen to books when I work out at the gym. I think that the people around me must of thought I was crazy - at the end of the book I was on the treadmill and tears were running down my face and my nose was running. Just a wonderful, fabulous book and great reader.

coon hunting is sadly a dying art

absolutely phenomenal gets my heart pumping for coon hunting every year I was 13 years old when I lost my first Coonhound a black and tan I am now 23 years old and I finally got myself a new black and tan I plan on training her taking her out hunting all over again

WHEN I WAS IN MRS FLETCHERS CLASS I BELIEVE WE READ N WATCHED THEN HAD A BOOK REPORT, AND IF YOUINS WENT TO SCHOOL W/ME THEN YOU KNOW WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT. OLD DAN N LIL ANNE.were the names he called his fix hounds.colon dogs etc. It WAS THE MOST EXCITING BUT REALLY HEARTBREAKING SAD TOWARDS END. I BELIEVE IT WAS BASED ON TRUE STORY especially when LIL ANN dies n Old DAN grieves. AND JUST CANT LIVE WITHOUT LIL. ANN SO HE GRIEVES himself death then where they were laid to rest UNDER THE TREE WITH THE HEART THAT THE YOUNG BOY COLEMAN HAD THEIR NAME'S ENGRAVED.AND ON TOP OFTHEIR GRAVE red fern started growing.

The story of a boy and his two dogs is a classic that all should hear and enjoy.

A true epic children's novel.

My son and I listened to it for a CC Homeschool assignment. We very much enjoyed it! Watched the movie afterwards, it was not as detailed as the book itself!
The narrator was enjoyable.

Well written classic performed as perfectly as one could wish it to be. I'll be reading this again, and again I think.
