I loved the mosquito

I just wanted to hear about the characters one last time in the conclusion but there wasn’t any mention of anything.

Science storytelling at its best!

Excellent story telling with impressive scientific explanations really help put the listener within the mind frame of species throughout time. Impeccable!

A Limelight for the Underappreciated

Metaphorically and literally downtrodden by the fascinating megafauna of prehistoric times, plants are often overlooked in the grand scale of learning about said times, and I believe this book really brought to light the importance of plants in terms of biology, science, and even our existence. Life simply wouldn't be here without them, in fact, and Black's ability to weave their significance into the stories of said life allows us to reconsider them AS the beginning of life, to be part of life itself, instead of simply being fodder for the awe-inspiring magnificent giant beasts. I garnered a new and better understanding appreciation for plants having read this.
