Publisher's summary

A commercial airliner disappears without a trace. Stranded, injured, and freezing, what happens to the survivors next will haunt them forever.

After breaking up a sex-trafficking ring, FBI Agent Victoria Heslin wants nothing more than to visit the rescue shelter she sponsors, a trip that also offers a much-needed European vacation and a chance to figure out her new relationship with Ned. Comfortable in first class, she drifts off, only to be shocked awake when her plane crashes.

Lost in an empty, frozen wasteland, Victoria and a few other survivors battle extreme temperatures, as each day brings more tragedy. One by one, the desperate group is winnowed down. The remaining passengers must decide if they'll stay with the wreck, waiting to be found, or brave the harsh elements and venture out in search of help.

When agent Dante Rivera learns of Victoria's fate, he puts all his energy and expertise into finding her plane, which seems to have vanished from existence. As he unravels a technological mystery and layers of scheming, he fears his worst nightmare will be realized: that he won't find his coworker and friend alive.

From USA Today and international best-selling author Jenifer Ruff comes a mystery-thriller and a survival story that will delight fans of James Patterson, Dan Brown, Michael Crichton, Lee Child, Ken Follett, and A.G. Riddle.

"An amazing survival story wrapped around an intriguing mystery, When They Find Us is Jenifer Ruff’s best book yet: great characters, an intense story line, and plot twists that will keep you guessing to the last incredible page." (Dan Alatorre, USA Today best-selling author)

Great

I really enjoyed this book. added the audible version and the narrator was really good. I realize this is a series and this is the only one I have listened to and it worked as a stand alone. I plan on going back and reading more.

Gripping mystery

I was hooked right away. Lots of little threads to keep my interest. I would definitely read anything from this author.

Liked the premise

Overall the topic was very interesting. I liked the storyline right up to the ending which was rushed and unsatisfying. It had an ending that left you wanting more detail. A lot of time was spent getting to know the characters but was hurried at the end.

good story

I really enjoyed listening to this book. The narrator was very good! The story flowed very well and kept my interest the whole way through and I tend to get bored

when they find us

I enjoyed this book on tape but the storyline was predictable so I'm not certain if I would like reading the book. the narrator was excellent so I would listen to other books by her. since this is #1 of several, I will try #2.

Great story, just not crazy about the heroine!

This story was great, the place crash the controversy surrounding it, the survivors and their actions.. all of it was great! I just can’t stand the heroine.. this is the second book in this series I’ve read and nope still don’t like her! Can’t put my finger on all the why’s.. she’s been written like some paragon of virtue and it’s unrealistic and a bit sickening. For this reason I can’t read anymore of this series.. the supporting characters are just fine and if the book was about them I think I could stand it, but not her.

Absolutely awful narration

The story itself seems okay, but the narration is absolutely awful. Sounds like a drunk clown. After two chapters couldn't take anymore. Will finish book though

Strains credulity

I liked the beginning of the book but then it just gets too bogged down in the conversation away from the crash site that just seems to go on and on and it’s not of much interest frankly. And it strains credulity when they’re having these long conversations out in 30 below snow and talking as so they were in the living room. I listen to it because I had an 8 Hour Dr. but if I had been home I probably would’ve stopped it halfway through. You go ahead though. Ok
