Patty takes full advantage of the freedom that college life provides, skirting the rules, getting into "scrapes", and doing as little work as possible while still managing to learn life lessons along the way.
This was Webster's first novel, published in 1903, and mirrored her days at Vassar, when college was a new and exciting opportunity for upper-class women.
