On this new six hour audio-learning course, Whyte tells us how to live at the frontier between the spiritual and physical needs of everyday life; how deeper states of attention amd intention can transform our own identity; and how we become more courageous. more present to the deeper understanding of ourselves, our loved ones and our world.

The best audiobook experience I've had so far

David Whyte's reading is what makes this so special.
It has -quite simply- redefined audiobooks for me.
Unlike so many authors or narrators, he doesn't just read, he tells a tale.
His voice is calming and penetrating to listen to.
The content is stunning and deep.

Before purchasing this book, I used audiobooks when reading was not an option- while driving or doing the dishes. It always felt like a compromise. For this book, listening to it made for a more heightened experience than reading it would have.

It offers, in my opinion, the best of what an experience of an audiobook can be.
I highly recommend it.

Revitalizing!

Whyte shows a different connection to life and the world around us that I absolutely needed to hear. Mistook this book for a compilation of his poetry-which in a way it is- but, it is soo much more than just that.

Really enjoy listening to this guy.

Whyte has a unique voice and perspective, and I've really enjoyed listening to him. This is definitely a situation where the audio book delivers more than I'd get just reading the book on my own.

Such Rich Insights From The Soul of a Poet

This is a gorgeous recording. It is a rich and deeply nuanced David Whyte. Having him read some of his works in the context of his life experience was, for me, transformative. His insights are relatable but also aspirational and speak directly to our better angels in, as you’d expect from him, the most lyrical and gentlest language.

Such a privilege to spend time in his company. I listened to this book in a chair next to my wife’s bed as she lay dying. It helped me, real time, to make sense of my welter of emotion and to find grace in what was unfolding. I will never be able to thank him enough for being such a gracious good shepherd.

Thought-provoking

Very deep and thought provoking. His personal reflections added to the story and a better understanding of his poetry. The reflection on his mother touched me. It allowed me to open up to other thoughts of loved ones who have passed.
Thank you for having David narrate his own book. It provides much more meaning.

Much to dwell upon.

David provides great narration causing this to feel like a deep discussion in a pub over a pint. There is much to consider. I will relisten with a pencil and paper.
