Memories are the cornerstones of our identity, shaping who we are, how we act, and how we feel. In his work as a happiness researcher, Meik Wiking has learned that people are happier if they hold a positive, nostalgic view of the past. But how do we make and keep the memories that bring us lasting joy? The Art of Making Memories examines how mental images are made, stored, and recalled in our brains, as well as the "art of letting go" - why we tend to forget certain moments to make room for deeper, more meaningful ones.

Helped me find the balance between speed and comprehension
I’ve always considered myself a slow reader, but I assumed that my only ways to increase speed would involve worsening my comprehension. I’m thankful I found this book to help me challenge this assumption!
The book does a fantastic job explaining the balance between reading speed and comprehension, and it explains several methods you can utilize to slowly increase both. It addresses speed reading myths and bold claims, and offers more realistic expectations for readers.
As a busy mom who often finds myself drowning in work, I’m thankful for the lessons learned in this book to help me increase my efficiency. After only a couple of days, I’m already noticing improvement, and I believe I’ll continue to improve with practice. I highly recommend this book to others looking to cut down on time spent reading.

Read Faster Today
If you’ve ever felt like you’re falling behind on your reading list because you just can’t get through books fast enough, this audiobook is exactly what you need. It’s well-written and packed with practical advice that will completely change the way you read.
The book kicks off by busting some common misconceptions about speed reading. It’s really about training your brain to take in information more quickly while still retaining the key details.
Then he starts to introduce several strategies that can help you increase your reading speed without sacrificing understanding. I like how the author gets straight to the point—there’s no unnecessary filler, just effective methods that actually make a difference. For instance, simple tricks like using a pen to guide your eyes have already made a significant improvement in how quickly and effectively I read.
If you’re looking to improve your reading speed, this book lays out a clear and practical guide. It’s a short listen, packed with tips you can start using right away. The methods are straightforward, and it’s clear the author knows the topic inside out.

you can really do speed read
I always thought speed read is somewhat a myth, or that you would always lost something in the words if you read too fast. I've always had this belief or shall I say misblief, before reading this book (listening to this book). From the method and strategies in this book, now I can say that I briefly know what it is to speed read a book, or at least how it should be done, and could be done. Becuase I listened to it while I was driving, I couldn't really practice the techniques introduced in this book. Then after I got to the office, I always forgot to test it, because it's usually early mornings are our routine daily meeting time, there's a lot planning and reporting to do in this meeting, and I just had to put everything off from my hand and just dive into the meetings. If it's not for the review prompt I probably would forgot to write this as well, but this is a great book i'd give you that. it's a comprehensive introduction of training your brain to speed read. I'd probably listen to some of the key parts again before practicing some techniques I learnt from it.

So interesting!!
I think it's ironic to listen to this book as an audiobook - lol - but I got a lot out of it. I've already tried some of the practices, and I think it could be a game-changer for me. Excellent narrator too.
