Publisher's Summary
A Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, and Amazon Charts bestseller.
In the fourth book of the multimillion-copy bestselling series, Morgan Dane’s new client has blood on her hands - and no recollection of what happened.
Haley Powell wakes up covered in blood, with no memory of the night before. When she sees a man lying in the backyard, stabbed to death, she has only one terrified thought: What have I done?
Agreeing to take the case as a favor to her PI friend Lincoln Sharp, Morgan must scale a mountain of damning circumstantial and forensic evidence to prove her client innocent. Haley couldn’t appear more guilty: Her bloodstained fingerprints are on the murder weapon, and she has no alibi. But Morgan can’t shake the feeling that this shocked young woman has been framed.
Someone out there is hell-bent on sabotaging her defense, targeting Morgan, her partner, and especially Haley. Someone who will stop at nothing - and whose next move will be deadly.

What I’ve Done
Whew this was quite the book! I’ve been looking forward to this books release and the day it happened I received an email from Goodreads saying I’d won a copy. WHAT! I ended up buying the audiobook because I love the narrator of this series! She does a fantastic job bringing the characters and series to life!
I was so sure I knew what really happened and I did partially but I didn’t have it all figured out! Also there are some references to Star Wars ???? that I absolutely did not understand because I’ve never watched those movies. I had a moment of fright about something that happened and I thought the author was going to break my heart. She didn’t, what a relief! If you like books with strong female characters, great mysteries and terrific characters, this series and author is for you!

A fantastic listen!
I want to give this book more than 5*s. It was a great read. The story itself was on the move from the very first page. Intense. Captivating. A must read!
Morgan and her partners, Lance and Sharp are, as always, working their butts off on a case. This one is personal for Sharp. His old friend, former partner, fallen brother’s wife comes to him about her daughter. Haley is being accused of a murder.
The way the story unfolds kept the pages turning. It was controlled chaos, but, the chaos kept the “ooh, I know who did it!” To every chapter. But then I was proven wrong. It’s a crazy, crazy, ride. The details of the story were perfectly layered with some fun and sassiness inside the chaos.
I have to say, I didn’t see the bad guy until it was too late. Which I like.
The fact that Melinda also threw in Star Wars references into the story... was amazing. My inner nerd approves.

Morgan Dane Has What it Takes
Morgan Dane continues to be a fascinating, rich, and engaging character. Her brilliant mind, take no prisoners attitude, humility to the point of self-deprecation, and absolute devotion to her family make her a total winner in my book, so to speak. This fourth addition to the series brings Morgan and her band of intriguing sidekicks into a stark drama that could so easily be torn from today's headlines.
I find this series, and particularly this story, to be sharply written, fast-paced, well-balanced in its blend of emotions, and excellently woven. This can easily be read as a stand-alone book, it's not necessary to start at the beginning of the series to understand the plot or characters within this tale. Wherever you start, I'm fairly confident you'll want to read the entire MD series. It's that satisfying.

This is a great story! The characters and action were so intense that I had to listen to the whole story. Gripping storyline, intense drama, great family story, and on top of that, Cris Dukehart’s performance was so darn good it made the story even better. This one was a mind bender
Another great story! This time Morgan is defending the daughter of Sharp’s dead best friend...she was found soaked in blood and with the murder weapon. Can the team get the answers before Haley is imprisoned for good? Lots more action in this book; narration portrayal of the characters is excellent...especially that of Morgan’s youngest daughter!

Good Listen!
A good listen, but the end seemed stretched. When Hayley is in the basement, the explosion happens which did not feel part of the story line.
