What do you do when your adult kids fly the nest and you are having a midlife crisis during a global pandemic? You buy a 22 room derelict villa in Italy while grocery shopping of course. Well, that is what Rosie did.
Buying the house was an accident. She only went out for bananas.
Rosie embarks on renovating her 22 room "new" home in Italy with a non-negotiable move-in date of Christmas Eve. Surrounded by a cast of interesting characters, the Irish woman learns the Italian way of life and house renovating in the country she wants to call home. But when the project manager goes AWOL, non-Italian speaking Rosie has no option but to take control with the help of a translation app.
With no heating, windows disappearing, mystery holes in the garden, water flooding down the stairs, a pandemic destroyed business and with a move-in date that seems more laughable than doable, Rosie begins to question if she was crazy to follow through on her fabulous midlife crisis dream of renovating a villa in Italy.

Wonderfully Entertaining!
As someone hoping to buy a property in Italy, Rosie has helped me decide to jump in and live my dream. If she can get through all the chaos with humor while renovating her home, I’m sure I can too! Most of all, this book shows you to appreciate what’s important in your life and how to enjoy both good and bad times. I can’t wait to read her next two books!

A fun listen
Rosie makes you feel like you are a part of her family adventure. The book is so humble and down to earth. I love old houses so following the renovation progress and all the people coming and going was great fun. Learning about living in Italy as a foreigner was interesting. Hearing about the people, food, customs was interesting. And most of all getting to hear Rosie’s perspective as a mother , wife , and friend during the dreaded COVID year of 2020. A reminder to all of us about what’s important . The narration was terrific! 👍

Moved to Italy( vicariously)!
Since it’s always been my dream to move to a foreign country, i thoroughly enjoyed this book! Her story telling put me right there in Italy. Loved all the adventures along the way.
