LUST TEARS & LOVE + THRILLS & DRAMA MC STYLE

The non-stop drama kicks right off from the first few words and from then on I was gripped as 21 yr old Dani's sheltered and naive world comes crashing down around her.... sometimes brick by brick and sometimes in great big damaging and hurtful chunks. As she's thrown into the shocking new world of the Devil's Dust MC it's sink or swim time which awakens her dormant kick-ass genes and sexual desires and before she knows it Dani's met her Father, lost her virginity, had jealous rages, fought with Club whores, clambered for respect, fallen out and split with her controlling hateful Mother, met the love of her life and now wears the Patch of an Old Lady.

The Patch says she's the property of Shadow, the MC Sargent-at-Arms, who's as handsome as sin, as deadly as a viper, is dark and brooding because of a childhood packed full with hurts and regrets, his life holds secrets and he is a possessive Alpha bad-ass. It wasn't a smooth ride for him and Dani but as soon as he saw her she brought light into his dark unforgiving world, added explosive chemistry followed by hot sex and he started to trust, to hope and to believe that he too could have a piece of Heaven in his dark and lonely Hell.... until one terrible fateful night when he was suddenly proved wrong.

ANYONE who loves the MC world of sexy leather-clad Alpha Bikers, Old Ladies, Cuts, Patches, Sweetbutts (Club whores), raw passion, hot sex, moody heroes, angst, murder, revenge, drama and an action-filled plot will love this. Plenty of character growth as Shadow tries to be worthy of Dani and she has uncorked her bad side making them perfect for each other. There's scenes where knuckles, fists and/or guns were used and a WTF of a CLIFFHANGER ending which will have you gasping in horror because you'll never ever ever see it coming and it'll have you frantically looking for book 2 (which is happily available now). Packed full of interesting characters, dual POV's and the narrators did a fantastic job with all the voices and brought the good, the bad and the ugly scenes to life.

Worth a credit? Loved it, didn't want to stop it, am raving about it and YES I found it very creditworthy.

-1 ⭐️ because of the cliffhanger

I think authors that use a cliffhanger as a way to ensure more book sales, must not be confident about their writing skills. A confident writer knows that a reputation of good writing skills, ensures continued book sales and the use of a cliffhanger isn’t necessary to coherence a reader/listener into buying another book, so that they will get the entire series.

Other then the cliffhanger, I really enjoyed this storyline. I loved experiencing the character development of both the Hero and the Heroine. I also really enjoyed watching their love and trust bloom. However, the cliffhanger ending added the type of angst to the story, that I really hate; betrayal of the people you should always be able to count on. I also disliked the immediate negative reaction, of the Hero, who claimed to love the Heroine, to a situation that the Heroine had no hand in. If the Hero doesn’t have to experience deep shame, over his actions, in the next book, I will be very disappointed.

The narration: Joe Arden is always a flawless narrator. Maxine Mitchell, however, has the unique ability to make me cringe because of her habit of making the Heroine sound extremely stupid and immature. I acknowledge that she has talent but the genre that I think would suit her best would be Young Adult books.

I’m off to book 2 to see if our Hero pays for his lack of faith in the woman he claims to love.

Did I read the reviews for the wrong book?

I debated for a while about getting this book; read and reread the reviews. All amazing reviews, so I took a chance.
I found this story to be juvenile at best, and the proper grammar and pronunciation of words just didn't fit the characters at all. Don't get me wrong, I am a stickler about proper grammar but not for these tough, gruff bikers. The main male character was just a pig! And the main female character was in over her head with this lifestyle.
I didn't make it passed chapter 10, at that part of the storyline I just needed to turn it off and return the book. I'm hoping Dani wised up and got the hell out, but probably not.
I really tried to give this book the benefit of the doubt and continued listening with the hope it got much better. But to no avail, it did not and I was out of patience.
I will stick to my other MC series, and enjoy a well written biker story.

Part One of Two

I have had this in my library for several months and have been shelving it because it has a CLIFFHANGER, and I just don't like that, especially when it's the first impression I get from a new-to-me author. I got Book 4 in this series, and it was good, so I figured it was time to give this a try. However, having tragically just wasted 2 credits to complete a trilogy that also started with a cliffhanger (I really need to check the reviews on EVERY purchase from now on), I decided to listen to the very end before deciding on whether to get Book 2 this time.

This is a good MC romance series with well-written characters and lots of layers. Both Shadow and Dani are relatively likable, even though they are certainly flawed. There's plenty of drama, some more authentic than others, but all within the realm of believability. I don't like spoilers, so if you want more, give it a listen. The verdict? I got Book 2 within a minute or so of finishing this one, and I didn't regret it.

The narration is very good. Both narrators do a great job of performing the various emotions and voices well. They make a good team and would definitely be the plus that would sway me to hit "Add to Cart" if ever I'm on the fence about a book.

Violent/gritty but enjoyable romance

When I purchased this book I did not realize it was not a stand alone novel. That being said part 2 is out so you can move on in and listen to it right away as I did. This story is unexpected. It has twists that you don't see coming. It is violent, gritty, but worth a listen. I enjoyed this book and was actually excited that part 2 was out and I bought it right away. It is credit worthy. The inner workings of the MC are not discussed and are mainly a back drop for the acceptance of violence. I recommend this and it falls into my top 25 listens of 2015.

This is a sizzling romance. There is a really big twist at the end so only listen if you have time to start the second book.

Amazing!

Dani is going crazy with her mother breathing down her neck until one day she takes them both to an MC club to hide out from her ex. Dani meets her father, the MC leader and she also meets shadow. Dani's life is about to change and she's caught up in a whirlwind of emotions and love. This is a first M. N. Forty for me and I know there will be many more! On to book 2 for me...
Joe Arden and Maxine Mitchell are brilliantly perfect!!

An ok read/listen

I did enjoy this audiobook, it’s performed well by the narrators. The storyline is quite jumpy though and I feel like Lots was left out so the author could quickly get to the end which was a bit annoying. I would have liked to know more about Shadow, I liked the characters but a deeper connection would’ve been made had the author gave more time to it.

Don't waste your time or money

Terrible story and terrible narration. Annoying tone of voice for female narrator. Don't even bother.

DNF

I chose this hoping for a non-generic biker book and due to the narrators. However the story had me rolling my eyes very quickly and despite the good narration, the story was just a bit rubbish. Not for me. Have returned.
