Publisher's Summary
When a crime-stopper senior citizen starts to act oddly, a new business sells fake products, and the New Year’s Eve fireworks display disappears, Mayor Cora Mae Bingham and the Spicetown Police Chief Conrad Harris have to get involved.
Cora keeps an eye on her quaint small town nestled in the Southern hills of Ohio. Although Spicetown is sprinkled with culinary street names, stores full of spices, and quaint lifelong citizens, out-of-towners can bring in a dicey element.

A small town cozy mystery.
Welcome to Spicetown. A fun little town with a big mystery. You get to know a whole cast of quirky characters that will quickly grow on you. I was certainly entertained by Sheri Richey’s light-hearted tale. It’s been a while since I’ve listened to a cozy that didn’t involve a murder, and it was quite refreshing. Nicole KandeLind kept things moving along at a great pace. A great narration. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.

A delightful cozy mystery............
Welcome to Spicetown is a delightful cozy mystery about a small town mayer, Cora, her chief of police, Conrad, and a full cast of various quirky inhabitants of Spicetown. The mystery portion of the book involves several apparently unrelated incidents in and around Spicetown that Conrad begins investigating. Never one to take a back seat, Cora inserts herself into his investigations with some snooping around of her own. She is aided in this endeavor by her assistant Amanda, whose budding romance with a local farmer makes up a large portion of the book. With just the right touch of sweet and low drama for the cozy mystery genre, Welcome to Spicetown not only kept me so entertained that I listened in one sitting, it made me smile throughout with the eccentric and occasionally naive actions of the local residents. The friendship and cooperation between Cora and Conrad and Cora's nurturing relationship with Amanda were perhaps my favorite aspect of this highly readable story. Nicole KandeLind's narration is fantastic. She has a lilting, upbeat voice that works well for all the characters from young to old, male to female in the story. Her delivery is flawless, and she differentiates between characters with great skill. I hope to see more books in this series written by Richey and narrated by Kandelind available on Audible soon. I received a copy of this audiobook at my request in exchange for this honest review.

Enjoy!
small-town, friendship ***** Small town southern Ohio is a lot like small town anywhere but with more nice folks than some. Everybody knows everyone else and gossip is a given, but here there is very little that's malicious. This is a comfortable story about some interesting mysteries but no murder of people or their character, and the characters you get to know are the kind of people you'd want for friends. The audio is narrated by Nicole KandeLind who is well suited to the task. I won a free audio copy in a giveaway.

Spicing up the town
This was a fun cozy mystery. It did seem strange not to have a murder happen (and to be honest I kept expecting to stumble over a body) but all the same I did enjoy it. The characters were fun and like able. I did wish the author had chosen some different names because a few did start with the same letter and it took me a while to sort out who they were, but that could just be me. The plot was interesting and I liked the unusual shops in the town. It felt like the author knew what she was talking about and put a lot of thought into it making it easy to picture. All in all a good start to a new series and a book you don't have to worry if little ears are listening to. Things in Spicetown are not right, the fireworks brought for a big New Year's Eve party are stolen and disappear. Also the Mayor Cora Mae Bingham is sold some essential oils that seem less than perfect from a new shop that has just opened up in town.with the towns reputation on the line can Cora and Police Chelif Conrad Harris get to the bottom of it? Could a local resident be behind the theft or is it a visitor from out of town? A van with doctored plates is seen spotted in town, could the owner be connected? Cora's assistant has just started seeing a new man and has fears he might be involved with the lady running the oil shop. If only she could test him as easily as she can run a test on the purity of the oils. Is more than a cold winter about to hit the small town? I liked the narrator, she used a number of voices to bring the story and characters to life. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
