In 2015, Arlan Hamilton was on food stamps and sleeping on the floor of the San Francisco airport, with nothing but an old laptop and a dream of breaking into the venture capital business. She couldn’t understand why people starting companies all looked the same (white and male), and she wanted the chance to invest in the ideas and people who didn’t conform to this image of how a founder is supposed to look. Hamilton had no contacts or network in Silicon Valley, no background in finance - not even a college degree. What she did have was fierce determination and the will to succeed.

Publisher's Summary
Are you ready to fill your life with more peace, power, and joy?
We Should All Be Millionaires details a realistic, achievable, step-by-step path to creating the support, confidence, and plan you need to own your success and become the millionaire the world needs you to be.
Only 10 percent of the world’s millionaires are women, making it difficult for women to wield the economic power that will create lasting equality. Whatever is stopping you from having seven figures in the bank - whether it’s shaky confidence, knowledge gaps when it comes to wealth-building tactics, imposter syndrome, a janky mindset about money (it’s okay, we’ve all been there!), or simply not knowing where to begin - this book shows you how to clear every obstacle in your way, show up, and glow up.
We Should All Be Millionaires will forever change the way you think about money and your ability to earn it.
In this book, Rachel Rodgers - a Black woman, mother of four, attorney, business owner, and self-made millionaire - shares the lessons she’s learned both in her own journey to wealth and in coaching hundreds of women through their own journeys to seven figures.
Inside, you’ll learn:
- Why earning more money is not “selfish” or “greedy” but in fact, a revolutionary act that brings the economy into balance and creates a better world for all.
- Why most of the financial advice you’ve heard in the past (like “skip your daily latte to save money”) is absolute patriarchal nonsense.
- An eye-opening history lesson on how women and people of color have been shut out of the ability to build wealth for centuries - and how we can fix this.
- How to stop making broke-ass decisions that leave you feeling emotionally and financially depleted and start making million-dollar decisions instead.
- Why aiming to earn $100K per year is not enough, and why you need to be setting your goals much higher.
- Strategies to bring more money in the door and fatten your bank account immediately. (Including Rodgers’ $10K in 10 Days Challenge, which hundreds of women have completed - with incredible results.)
It’s time to construct an entirely new attitude about money, claim your power, and build the financial security that you need and deserve - so you can stop just surviving and start thriving. Let’s begin.

Some Good Content In Between the Opinions
The first half of this book is the author bragging about her own success and telling you why you should listen to her. It’s filled with anecdotes, political opinions and “studies” that are unabashedly cherry picked just to justify the author’s opinions. The second half finally delves into some really good content about action steps for starting a business along with a great challenge to motivate immediate action. There are some great lessons learned as well as dos and don’ts that are quite valuable. This book really should only be half the length, but if you can get through the political opinions and autobiographical fluff, there are some great nuggets for an aspiring entrepreneur.

I really want to like this book, but ultimately the history story falls flat, as the narrator (the author) is so monotone and boring. It ultimately feels like I'm listening to a history lecture in high school. Where is the passion?!

Inspiring, actionable, and not just for entrepreneurs
I’m not an entrepreneur, but I am a woman and an executive leader of a $20mil non-profit. Rachel called me out in Chapter 1 on my nonsense “money story” — that was just the beginning of her telling me the truth and I am so here for it. I may not run my own business but I know I will use Rachel’s thought work and Million Dollar Behavior to help guide my executive leadership decisions. I’ve now bought multiple copies of the hardcover version for some women in my life who I know could benefit from Rachel’s message.

I've read many personal development books boyt this ranks up there with the best. As a 61 year old white woman I am not who the book is aimed at BUT as a n oler woman I am marginalised in society so most of it was spot on relevant to me.
Great sound advice looking at the issues women face daily.

Enjoyed, related and learnt from this book
Overall this was a very good book that encourages ethnic minorities that we too can be millionaires.
Rachel summarizes the type of mentality you need and action steps to make your way well from a perspective of a black women using her own and other woman's experiences which left me feeling like I could do it too.
Not a critique for the author but a note to potential reader. I didn't feel like it caters for women who are at the beginning stages of trying to start their own business/establish their career. It is mainly geared towards those that have started and are now focused on making this your route to riches.
It is still definitely worth a listen to though

This is such a brilliant book for anyone who knows they are worth much more than they earn but they are stuck for whatever reason. Rachel Rodgers delivers a compelling and persuasive argument that there is no better time than today and there is absolutely no reason why we can’t earn the money to have the life we want. I am so pleased that this audiobook was narrated by Rachel - I felt at times she was directly talking to me in relation to my limiting beliefs. I have learnt practical ways of dealing with challenges I am currently facing on my entrepreneurial journey. One of the things I found empowering to me is Rachel was not/is not perfect, she is also a black woman and faced challenges which parallel my life - AND SHE DiID THE THING!!! She is a multi-millionaire. I am so inspired. I am going to listen to this audiobook again and buy the book. I would soooo recommend.

Life changing!
Every woman should read this book. It is exactly what we need. Yes, we should all be millionaires! And it’s also possible. Rachel makes it so easy with this book. I’ll be listening again until everything is embedded without a thought. But it has eliminated so much doubt for me already. Highly recommend.

So glad I started 2022 with this book
This is a must read for any woman, especially women of colour who want to level up their finances and live in general but don’t believe they can, yet! You can and Rachel breaks down not only why you can but how. There were so many “omg she gets it moments” and “Ah ha” moments. If you don’t believe your own awesomeness then borrow Rachel’s belief in you until your high of your own self.
Will be immediately listening again because I have a lot of thought work to do but I’ve already take action to set up my million dollar system and l’m on the hunt for my million dollar squad. Any stay at home mums looking to build a kick ass money machine making business, change the lives of millions for the better, while stillbeing able to be present at home, let’s be friends, find me@inlovenayo on Instagram xx

Couldn’t get past the introduction
I am sure this book is full of fantastic life changing advice but I couldn’t get past the monotone voice. I wasn’t convinced and couldn’t even finish the introduction of this book.

Best book I have ever read.
This book has changed my life. I just finished it yesterday and have already gradually started implemented the majority of the ‘million dollar decisions’ that Rachel mentions in the book. Rachel shares such motivating concepts that are also extremely practical. I have taken on her 10k in 10 days challenge and have set myself a goal to make 5k in 10 days. Rachel is the cheerleader that we all need. I felt like I got a whole personalised coaching experience through this book. The first ‘million dollar decision’ I made by purchasing it.

Inspiring!
this book is so inspiring! Rachel gives great practical tips and strategy, as well as looking at our relationship to money and how and why women hold themselves back from being a millionaire. I recommend this for anyone who wants to or is running a business and want to do good in the world. Enjoy!

Inspiring
Great information for any woman who's wondering how to challenge the patriarchy, improve her overall financial situation and support others in the process. Loved the humour in the book which stopped it from getting overwhelming. Rachel's exploration of money stories and thought work is really insightful and accessible. Backed with solid research and relatable experiences.

Good book but should have got someone else to read it
The book has good content but it so is very hard to listen to as Rachel’s voice is so monotone. There is no emotion or enthusiasm. I was convinced it was an automated voice reading it until I checked. I would skip the audible version and buy a hard copy if you want to read it.
