Jerry Garcia was best known for his role as singer and lead guitarist of the Grateful Dead. Fans of the Grateful Dead, known as Deadheads, are more than just a fanbase: They are a family.
However, what many of those family members may not realize is that in addition to headlining the cultural phenomenon known as the Grateful Dead, Jerry Garcia also held a series of smaller, more intimate concerts with his own Jerry Garcia Band.
Attending a Grateful Dead concert with 10,000 other screaming fans was certainly fantastic, but attending a show by the Jerry Garcia Band, an event with attendees numbering in the hundreds rather than thousands, was its own kind of special.
Rick Webber set off on a mission. Determined to experience the Jerry Garcia Band magic as many times as he could, Rick and his friends traveled to a host of different venues and embarked on countless adventures.
Along the way, Rick managed to meet Jerry Garcia, the Man himself. Rick shook his hand, got his autograph, and painstakingly documented every detail of the journey as he diligently preserved each picture he captured and every bit of memorabilia he collected.
After the untimely death of Jerry Garcia in 1995, his fans, including Rick Webber, were devastated. Personally narrated in audiobook format by the author himself, this book is the tribute of Rick Webber to one unassuming yet brilliant performer.
