“A twisty whodunit” (Cosmopolitan) about a shocking murder in a picturesque and well-to-do English town from the #1 New York Times and Sunday Times (London) bestselling author of the None of This Is True.

You’re back home after four years working abroad, new husband in tow. You’re keen to find a place of your own. But for now, you’re crashing in your big brother’s spare room.

That’s when you meet the man next door. He’s the head teacher at the local school. Twice your age. Extraordinarily attractive.

You find yourself watching him. All the time. But you never dreamed that your innocent crush might become a deadly obsession.

Or that someone is watching you.

In Lisa Jewell’s latest “spine-tingling thriller” (Real Simple), no one is who they seem—and everyone has something to hide. Perfect for fans of Gillian Flynn and Ruth Ware, Watching You will keep you guessing as “Jewell teases out her twisty plot at just the right pace” (Booklist, starred review) until the startling revelations on the very last page.

If you hate nosy neighbors, you’ll love this
"After taxes, my least favorite part of moving to the suburbs is the feeling that everyone is in everyone else’s business. In real life, I steer clear of neighborhood drama—which might be why experiencing it vicariously is such a thrill. Lisa Jewell, author of stunners like And Then She Was Gone and I Found You, confirms things are just as claustrophobic across the pond with the paranoiacally titled Watching You. Set in an upper-crust enclave of Bristol, England, it starts with a mysterious murder and a few tantalizing clues before shifting to various points of view. Through Gabrielle Glaister’s crisp narration, I dove right into all the obsession, scandal, and creepy voyeurism—through my headphones, happily, and away from prying eyes."

I wasn’t sure whether to give this book 3 or four stars. But I liked it more and more as I read, or listened, that I upped it to four. There are a lot of different characters and stories but they all seem to connect somehow and made it very interesting. It was a slow reveal without major twists or turns but there were some and I thought it was very well done. Overall an interesting and satisfying read.

Enjoyable

A good whodunnit, but not especially memorable. I wasn’t desperate to keep going like I was with Jewell’s other books. She spends an inordinate amount of time convincing you that characters are inherently good or bad people, only to flip them in the last chapters to tie it all up in a nice little bow.

Good, but not great.

This was often hard to follow, especially in the beginning. There are so many perspectives, and you often times find yourself going back to re-read/re-listen. Not as good as other novels I’ve read by this author, in my opinion.

I really enjoyed this book. Gabrielle Glaister was a perfect choice and honestly, I probably wouldn’t have finished or kept trying to get into the story if it weren’t for Gabrielle Glaister narrating it- I’m very happy I chose the Audible version over the Kindle edition.

Really entertaining read

Good story, just not great. Nice overall cadence and narration but a but predictable. Still an enjoyable story.
