Publisher's Summary

Every wrongdoing warrants a consequence. In my case, I've decided to settle the score with death. Especially when what brought this on, what stirred up my crazy, was the vicious attack on an innocent young girl. Worse, one that ended in her death. For years, I've been plotting to take out the men I used to call my brothers. The men who double-crossed me by brutally murdering my sister.

I want revenge. I need it. Crave it. It's in my blood. I plan to stop at nothing. No matter, if I inflict pain on another woman. After all, it was her brother who killed my sister. I figure, why not make him suffer the same way I have.

One tiny glimpse of her changes everything.

Or does it?

Maybe, just maybe, the little siren I wanted to harm is going to single-handedly slaughter me instead.

Lies.

Deceit.

Manipulation.

Gotta love a tangled web of warranted deception.

Author's note: This book does contain triggers. Please be advised.

A warranted HEA guaranteed.

Dark and Violent with warning

This story definitely has angst and violence but the readers are warned ahead of time. This is a good story about sex trafficking and violence to women and men with no holding back. It is good to read a story with grit and violent perspectives once in awhile because these things actually happen in real life to people. I did however have some trouble following along and I think it is partly due to the narration. This is a good narrator but in this book I could not distinguish the voices and would have preferred a dual narration. #audiobookobsession

Finding Love In The Darkest Place

Sarah Puckett is so great when bringing thing dark tale of revenge.

Chaz is out for blood after his old gang of brothers betray him in the darkest of ways. He goes out of his comfort zone to take revenge by taking the sister of his enemy. Little does he know Jillian won’t be so easy to use for vengeance. Little by little he takes an eye for an eye in this gritty listen.

This one is dark. There is a romance element but it isn’t hearts and flowers. Again this is dark if you are easily triggered by abuse, humiliation, rape, trafficking and blood this author has several lighter reads that may be better options.

Great Listen

This is the story of Chaz and Jillian. I will go ahead and tell you that Jillian frustrated me. I wanted to slap this woman so hard st times. Chaz though I fell in love with. Both of these characters have not had easy lives at all. This book is dark and gritty and I loved listening to it. The Narrator did an amazing job of transporting me into the Warrant world every time I would listen to this book. This is one you for sure do not want to miss if you love dark and gritty books

Desperately Deep and Dark

I love dark romance and this is it. The beginning feels like I was dropped into the middle of a story but enough is given to carry me through. There are wet graphic scenes and more in the violence category than sex and rape, but there’s plenty of the latter. Chaz devotion to women in general is powerful and is the moral of the story. I get the HEA after the dark so it’s a winner.
Narration was good but could have used a few more voice differences within conversations as it was hard to tell if it was Chaz or Alex speaking back and forth.
I was given this audiobook at my request and have freely offered my honest opinion.
👍🏻🔥two thumbs up for the heat!

Dark romance

Warrant is a very good story. Truly the definition of a DARK romance. It’s not for the faint of heart. I really enjoyed it.
As usual, Sarah Puckett did a fabulous job with the narration.

Warrant by Kathy Coopmans is seriously delicious!

OK, it’s dark and super graphic and I loved it! I have a serious obsession with dark mafia romances. Mrs. Coopmans knows how to deliver! Chaz is a character that I’ve been feening for since Vengeance. Chaz is… gosh, how do I describe him? He’s so incredibly strong and completely… charged? Impressive? I’m sure Chaz would dislike my thought process but he is a character so strong… he’s a man who put other’s needs in front of his own. Warrant goes back and forth between a great action that made me feel like jumping to my feet and shouting and other times where it was a bit slower. I was fine with the back and forth action, perhaps because the action was so BIG!!

I definitely recommend Warrant if you enjoy darker books that touch on some sensitive subjects. I’d say go in thinking that it is a mafia book so there will be blood and death as well as more difficult subject matter. For a story that’s based in the mafia world, in a dark world, we do get two main characters that struggle back and forth with right and wrong. In the end, it’s so full of love and caring, passion and building a life… a real one.

Sarah Puckett is a fabulous narrator. She is able to pull of dual-type narration books. It really amazes me. She has such a feminine voice, rich and strong. Yet when she does the males voice she is able to pull it off without a problem. It honestly shocks me that she's able to do both male and female voices so flawlessly.

dark, intense and suspenseful

To say this book is dark is an understatement. It touches on real situations that woman find themselves in. The suspense is just as intense as the romance. Chaz and Jillian have so much baggage. The angst of Chaz will capture any mind and drag the reader deep into the story. I needed breaks through some scenes just to breath. I could not stop listening until it was over, leaving me wanting more. I did not read the first book in this series and I did not feel I was missing anything for this story.

Sarah Puckett gives everything she has to narrate this story with such emotion. Chaz is such a complex character, I was amazed at Sarah's ability to bring out each emotion, attitude and struggle of his. Sarah has a great male voice, as well as her female voice. I found it easy to listen to Sarah's narration as she created a movie in my mind.

Captures you

Sarah Puckett did a great job narrating this book and really adding dimension to the characters and bringing them to life. I really felt as if she put some passion into these characters and the emotions these characters had in the background were quite large,

As to the story I felt like the story itself had a great flow with some interesting little twists and turns built in. The two main characters have some interesting history and their skeletons and emotional baggage create for an interesting read. I do feel like I need to go back and read book 1 as I am sure there is information which would help this book go a little smoother for me.

wow

so If you like super dark romances with lots of violoence action and blood shed but also unconventional love involving a hot rugged bad boy then this is the book for you.woah I was not expecting the first two chapters to go that way! That got dark real fast. Lots of gang violence, torturing happening at the beginning. It really drew me in though and I cant stop listening. There are a few trigger warnings though, you for sure have to have a strong stomach for this one and not be easily triggered by reading about rape, abuse and sex trafficking.I recieved this one in exchange for a review. I didnt read the synopsis before listening so I probably should have done that but I like to be suprised sometimes and boy was I haha. The hero in the story doesn't do any of these things though. If anything he wants to stop it and he is out for revenge for the people who took everything from him. This is a second book in the series so I probably should have read the first one to know more of the back story but overall the story was interesting enough to hold my interest the whole time. I took a few breaks in between because I dont read books this said this often and needed something fluffy to read in between. The two main characters got together in a non conventional way and were both raised in bad environments and forced into lives they wanted no part of based on who their parents were. They didnt have the normal type of relationship at first but their lives were anything but that and they were just one eachother needed to make it through.

Good story but too much inner dialogue

This was good, but I found myself drifting away from the story because there was too much inner dialogue. The premis of the story was good but personally I didn't feel the chemistry between Jillian and Chaz, and I think that was because of the aformentioned lack of dialogue between them. I also found the story difficult to follow occasionally, particularly at the beginning when it was focused on the past, but I still appreciate it was well written. Sarah Puckett did a good job of the narration and had an authentic male voice which worked well, something I wasn't sure was going to work at first.

Chaz!

This was a dark and dangerous adventure for the Chaz and Jillian. Love was made out of blood, crime and tears. This is a story of revenge, family feuds and abuse, and how to make it through the darkness. A perfect second chapter to book one. Sarah Puckett is one of y favorite narrators and she can do no wrong. Awesome story a must listen.

So much heartach!

This story has so much heartache in it, you can't help but just cry for the characters. They go through so much torment and horrific things, I don't know how they can possibly go on. He is a good guy at heart on a murderous rampage, saving the world from evil, avenging his sisters death. She is an innocent woman, the sister of his enemy, and tormented by her brother. They share a bond that is beautiful and may heal their broken hearts, if it is possible, and if they can wipe out their enemy. Their chemistry is off the charts and extremely hot, as well!

Sara Puckett is an exceptional narrator!

Dark, yet Utterly Fantastic

There are definitely a lot of triggers throughout this book. While it is super dark, it is extremely well written and has a lot of passion and emotion. If you want a dark mafia style romance with imperfect and strong characters, then this is for you. I love Chaz and Jillian's romance, it is totally hot and magnetic yet also touching; and this even is with all the craziness that is surrounding their lives. I am wholly impressed with the author's ability to perfectly blend the darkness with a beautiful romance. Can easily be listened to as a standalone even though it is the second in the series.

Sarah Pucket gives us another amazing performance. I don't think anybody else's narration would have been as perfect for this story. This story is one that really shows how truly diverse she is as a narrator. She never ceases to impress and totally captured these characters perfectly.

"no words"

what a terrifying, thrilling, dark ride ... um, yeah. This book was incredibly written. The words wove a story so compelling that you could not help but just read on helplessly while trying to maintain some semblance of normalcy. oh wow. Sarah Puckett did this book justice. Jillian is now my favorite character, she is fierce and overcomes so much. I could barely read it. And Chaz. They complement each other and make this book more. Great listen.

Kathy Coopmans is so very good at what she does!!! This book is no exception! With this dark storyline, it could have been difficult to read.. but it wasn’t! She wrote this with such skill and smoothness, that it made me root for what was going to happen! I have never been disappointed with a book written by Kathy Coopmans. You won’t be either. Heed the warnings.

Loved it.

I really liked the story, and how the characters dealt with the difficult and horrifying situations they were in.
I did, however, skip over some of the sex scenes towards the end.

Raw and gripping

Kathy Coopman did a fantastic job in her writing, Sarah Puckett did an equally fantastic job in telling this dark, deeply emotional, nail bitting, at the edge of your seat story of sex trafficking, corruption, revenge, a screwed up sibling rivalry and a sweet romance. Highly recommend, but not for the squeamish.
