USA Today best-selling author Lynne Gentry takes a heartwarming peek at second chances and the well-intentioned folks who inadvertently sabotage them. Come visit the small West Texas town of Mt. Hope for a generous helping of Southern humor and hope.

When tragedy strikes Leona Harper, the devastated pastor's wife summons her estranged children home. But parenting young adults in the glass house of the parsonage proves more difficult than reinventing herself.

Determined to give her broken family a shot at a second chance, Leona begins the painful journey of putting one foot in front of the other. Reconciliation and healing won't come easy in this zany, trouble-filled, hilarious walk-through-grief adventure.

Brimming with wit, authenticity, and Southern charm, the Mt. Hope Southern Adventures series explores the inspirational and emotional healing of a family. You’ll have to laugh to keep from crying.

These stories are a touching addition to the small-town, generational series of favorite authors like Ann B. Ross, Jan Karon, Philip Gulley, and Fannie Flagg.

If you loved the folks in the Texas town of Mt. Hope, you've got to meet the quirky women of Fossil Ridge ranch.

The characters were so realistic it was like living amongst them in the small town community. Lynne Gentry has now been added to my list of favorite authors. I can’t wait to begin the next one in the series.

I loved this book.

This was a touching story about a pastor’s wife who suddenly finds herself a widow and gets a second chance to find herself and mend things with the family she has left. Relatable characters, true-to-life conflicts, and plenty of warm-fuzzy feelings. This author’s books are always a treasure- nice to hear her voice tell it.

Sweet and touching

This story reminds me of Jan Karon’s Father Tim, his town(s), and that cast of characters. I am very pleased to see that the author has more books in this series.

What a great story… And all of the languages is refreshingly clean.

I liked that the author read the story she wrote about. The emotios and emphasis was there when it was needed.

relationships and their dynamics in all walks of life.

The author can really write dialogue—and even self-talk. Her characters each have distinctive voices. She writes FAMILY and GENERATIONAL issues well — both the good and the flaws found therein. I could recognize parts of my own crew in hers, even though we’d never met.

I can really HEAR these characters.
