Publisher's summary

Money can’t buy love. But it can buy isolation.

Dress so well, so polished, no one will ever dare to look me in the eye.

Then I met her....

It was one night. No names. No problem. I gave myself over to the kind of desire I didn’t think I could feel again. When I woke up she was gone.

Now she’s back. In my office. My turf.

And I can’t stop thinking about her. She’s nothing like I remember. She’s better. Irresistible. That makes her trouble. Anyone who turns me on like this is trouble.

She’s smart. Smart enough not to get involved with me. A stubborn monster. An all-consuming beast. Until we can’t take it anymore. It’s better than I remember. Scorching kisses. Heated skin. Bodies slick with sweat.

Now she says we made a mistake. I say different.

My baby growing inside her is in no way a mistake.

All the feels!

Really great listen!

The storyline is full of feels - including breast cancer (the MMC’s first wife passed 2 years ago from this) and the FMC has a scare as well. So if this is a trigger for you, just be aware.

There is a lot more to this story though, and the writing and dialogue are first rate! The narration is fantastic as well!

wonderful

It is a love story that comes from a one night stand. But that's does nothing for their love now. He adores her and she's crazy about him.but they do go through their ups and downs. He's finally ready to admit to her that he loves her, she's going to tell him that she's pregnant and they found a lump in her breast. You're going to have to listen to the book to find out what happens. The narration and storyline was great and so was the author.

Delightful story!

Set in the world of modeling and Prada, Gwendolyn and Andrew found each other five years ago, had a one night stand and never forgot the other. Now they're both employed by Prada and Andrew finds out that Gwen is his new colleague and they share an office. It's a wonderfully emotional way to start, especially when it's revealed that Andrew is a widower who struggles with guilt about moving on after losing his wife to cancer. Although she's a model, Gwen feels a little insecure because Andrew is a gorgeous man who she comes to find out was a model in his previous life. His wife was also a model and Gwen doesn't think she can compete with the ghost of the perfect wife. What she doesn't know about his marriage is that it was far from perfect. This story is powerful when it deals with love lost and found, again. The story was beautifully narrated by Auri Alden and Stephen Borne. Their dynamic, well-paced voices blended together with both male and female parts and gave the story added  depth and emotion as it came alive.

Wait for Me

Wait for Me is the first book in the Forever Mine series. This book is about Andrew and Gwen and is told from both of their points of view.

Gwen and Andrew meet when the hook up one night. No names, no phone numbers, nothing. When Andrew wakes up Gwen is gone. He regrets not getting her info. However, she shoes up at his job and is his new pr assistant.

I really enjoyed Andrew and Gwen's banter back and fourth. It made the book a fun listen. This book is a fun quick read, and I had fun getting to know these characters. I'm excited to continue on with the series and see what happens next!

I thought the story was sweet. I really liked Gwen's character. This second chance romance was very sweet.

A weird blend of old fashioned and contemporary

I didn't love this book. Largely because it was underwritten and kind of forgettable. Strong 'Harlequin Presents' vibes here. The mfc (Gwen) had an inner monologue that sounded like David Brent/Michael Scott. A lot of "I'm real, I'm fierce, I'm at the top of my game" which she thought completely unironically. 😬. Such clown-town affirmations. When she wasn't busy being a caricature, the mfc was totally fixated on the mmc (Andrew). Mostly his body and his smell. Her pathetic worship-babble was borderline unbearable. He was written as a wounded nice guy (a little too beta for my tastes) but still okay.

I also hated that the author used gauche behaviour and inelegance to idk... humanize? humble? make a spectacle of? the mfc. Like, her getting snagged on everything, toppling over, jumping to conclusions. stuffing her face at inopportune moments, staring dreamily at the mmc in their shared workspace, breaking/spilling his treasured keepsakes 🙄. Oy vey. And note, readers this WASN'T comedy. These two WERE NOT FUNNY PEOPLE. They were both pretty emotionally constipated actually. I pushed through and the book did get a little more grounded due to biological realities - illness, babies, death etc., but even that was blighted by a lot of stupid miscommunication. In the last couple of hours all the sexy gets sucked right out and the tacky melodrama comes in. The mmc couldn't initiate a conversation to save his life. And the mfc was constantly fleeing him for some reason. The woman kicked up more dust than the roadrunner. My journey with this series ends here.

Second Chances

Gwendolyn "Gwen" Mallory (Foley) and Andrew Michael Morgan have a cute and steamy story that I really liked. I love that their one-night stand was out of character for who they were at that time in their lives, and how they each reacted to being thrown together again kept things entertaining.

The audio doesn't include the extended prologue / prequel, so if you have the book, be sure to read it. It's only a few short, steamy chapters, but they are highly recommended and worth reading.

While Enrico, Gwen and Andrew's boss, is a bit of a romantic, he does seem to miss some cues around the office. LOL!

There was one subject that was left unanswered. More than one really, but I suspect the others will be answered in future series books, as this contained the setup for the next two. The one I'm referring to is related to Gwen's ex, Dan. What did happen? Why did he walk away? Why was he so eager for a quick divorce after letting so much time pass?

I received an author's copy of the audio book to accompany my ebook. The narrators are Auri Alden and Stephen Borne. I loved both and their Italian accents when they were appropriate. They really would've been better with duet narration, though.

Wow!!! Must Read💕

Gwen and Andrews love story was beautiful to listen to. Gwen went through what most women do when they fall in love with someone they feel is out of their league. She is strong and smart though. Andrew is definitely a man's man. He is the kind of man every woman wants and needs. This book is definitely a must read!!!!

Starts off fun and ends up dramatic

Starts off fun and ends up dramatic
4 stars overall, 4 stars story, 5 stars narration

I really enjoyed this office romance set in the world of high fashion at Prada. Lovable characters, a realistic and detailed setting, and excellent narration elevated this contemporary romance to something remarkable. It seems like the author did some good research about what marketing people in the fashion industry actually do. The bedroom scenes were wonderfully steamy. I adored the rom-com elements and the office romance, but the book was a little too much of an emotional rollercoaster for me. Thankfully there was a happily ever after. I am looking forward to listening to the rest of the series.

Triggers: there were lots of triggers about breast cancer.

Mainly I rated this novel 4 stars instead of 5 because the last part of the plot was driven by the overused device of inadequate communication causing unnecessary conflict. This choice by the writer seemed lazy to me. I could overlook the overused unplanned pregnancy trope. It did slightly annoy me that neither main character seemed to know about the existence of the Morning After Pill.

Both narrators gave excellent performances, but the female narrator Auri Alden really blew my mind. Auri Alden reminded me of Julia Whelan and is just as talented as her. Auri has a gorgeous alto voice that is eloquently expressive and perfect. Her male voices are amazing and sound very sexy. The male narrator Stephen Borne is very good overall. He has a sexy male voice, but his female voice for the heroine is not quite good enough. I loved how both narrators correctly pronounced every Italian word.

I requested and received a free audio copy, and I voluntarily wrote this honest review. #PFPAudio #PinkFlamingoProductions #TheFlockVIPReviewTeam
