Publisher's Summary

Can they handle the competition?

Getting down and dirty in the sand is all in a day’s work for pro-volleyball digger, Robby Gilcrest, but a new doubles partner has him competing both on and off the court.

Ace Henderson comes from the wrong side of the tracks and has worked for every success in his life. Why should he think his relationship with Robby would be any different?

But he’s not losing to Morgan. Robby is his, right?

Beach volleyball and fouled emotions will bring them together or tear them apart - right on time for these Olympic hopefuls.

A sweet MM romance with an established couple and plenty of balls.

A Short, Sweet Sports Romance

When top-tier beach volleyball team Ace and Robby fall in love, Ace knows they can't have both a romantic relationship and still be partners on the court. They both decide that they want to be a couple and search for new volleyball partners. How will they balance the pressures of excelling in their sport with the ups and downs of of life?

The way Michaels incorporates the exclusivity of Olympic-level beach volleyball with the normalcy every couple experiences is well-shown. Ace and Robby go through the stress of their profession, supporting each other when life brings them down and even a bout of jealousy on their journey to happiness and fulfillment. It's short, but the story is complete and leads to a satisfying conclusion.

Having dual narrators, Lance Isley and Mackenzie Brennan, really enhances the story. I especially like their interpretation of the wonderful dialogue written by Lynn Michaels. It comes alive with its authenticity.

I received this audiobook as a free review copy that I requested. I have voluntarily written my opinion of it.

Recommended.

Short but satisfying

I'm always worried about the short ones - will they be able to fill a complete story. This one certainly did. This was a short, but sweet story. Add in a sports-related storyline and it really did have a beginning, middle and end to it.

The narration was ok. Not great, but no major complaints with it.

I would definitely check out this author again (this was my first by her).

I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review.

A romantic short story

It went really fast and I felt like this story was more telling than showing. It felt like someone was telling me something instead of me reading and book and trying to imagine it in my minds eye.

LOVE OF SPORTS OR PERSON?

I received this audio book for free and am giving my honest and voluntary review

Ace and Robby are two top talented volleyball players who have a chance to go to the Olympics as sand-volleyball partners, but Ace won’t partner with Robby if they are dating. Robby has a choice to make and chooses love over the sport. He hampers his chances of going to the Olympics by being overly choosy when he needs a partner.

I loved the dynamics of the jealousy, the love and the immaturity that turns into maturity for the characters and how it is dealt with. A well-written story about a sport I love.

The narration was good and helped the story flow smoothly.

give me more :)

I was given the opportunity to listen in exchange for an honest review. so.....this is my second short story by Lynn Michaels. she definitely has talent in short novellas that keep me listening. I loved the volley ball plot and the two mains were sweet and spoiled. I would absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE if I could have had more. More back story, detail in sexy times, just more story. The narration was quality, sound was clear and overall a quick listen that left me wanting....more!

Nice sweet short

Volley is a nice slice-of-life story (not really a romance) of Robbie and Ace as they each aim for an Olympic medal. I would not have minded a prequel story of how they became a couple. Most of the story revolved around the volleyball games and how Ace was unreasonably jealous of Morgan.
The narration was good: there were well acted parts and then parts that sounded more like a play-by-play than acting or narrating. The best part was that both narrators enunciated so perfectly that I could listen at 2-3x speed without anything sounding slurred or dropping off. I liked the inclusion of a few fxs as well.

Fun short!

Story: A very interesting shorter read!!! Despite the concise form, there are plenty of feels in it and the whole story is really dynamic. I really liked it a lot!!!

Narration: A great voice!

Things are changing

This is a nice low angst romance between two professional volleyball players.
They need to make a decision on how to proceed...
Focus on being team mates or proceed into a relationship.
A nice listen when you want to keep things relatively light.
