Together with the bird catcher Papageno, Tamino is supposed to free Princess Pamina because the dreaded Sarastro has imprisoned her in his castle. Tamino and Papageno receive a magic flute and a glockenspiel from Pamina's mother, the Queen of the Night. The brave rescuers must overcome difficult tests, but the daring rescue plan succeeds. In the end, Tamino and Pamina, Papageno and his new girlfriend Papagena are happily in each other's arms.

Car alarm in a symphony, what!?
Loved revisiting this classic from my childhood.
Shocked by the chapter interruptions, seriously!? It’s like a car alarm going off in the middle of a symphony!
Great introduction to Vivaldi for kids of all ages (I’m now in my 30’s and still love it!).
Wish they had more from this series on audible.

Great story, why the inexplicable chapter narration?
I listened to this a zillion times on cassette as a kid. This is the same story. Except some dude in a monotone interrupts the story with chapter numbers. Sometimes, it's even in the middle of a sentence. The original had no chapters, it was one continuous 30 minutes. So this is a change that makes the listening experience so much worse.

Bad Chapter Breaks
This version had just awful chapter breaks. They will literally cut off in the middle of a sentence and an obtrusive voice will announce the new chapter. If I remember correctly, the version I listened to as a kid (on cassette) didn’t have any chapters at all. Seriously it’s distracting and almost ruins the story.
