“No. Never saw it coming. Jake’s a nice guy. Normal, you know? The man coached my son’s little league, for God's sake! I don’t understand any of this.”
“I’ve known Anne for years. Not once did I ever think she could do something like this. Ever.”
“You’re nuts. Mike would give the shirt off his back if you needed it. They got the wrong person. He didn’t kill all those people. This is crazy. Now, get out of my yard.”
You’ve seen the headlines…watched a reporter questioning stunned neighbors - maybe even tuned out the incredulous voices. But what if it happened right next door or at your place of work? Would that get your attention? Do you really know those within your bubble of existence?
Already world weary and emotionally numb from the death of his partner eight years prior, Senior Detective Maxwell Browning never thought he’d experience the familiar, adrenaline-pumping drive to solve an unfolding mystery ever again. While the town’s victim count grows, so does his confusion. Why are average, normal people without a lick of violence in their background killing without rhyme or reason?
What Max finds along the road to discovery defies belief and upends everything he thought he knew…or wanted to know. Prepare yourself. The truth lies within.

One of the best books I’ve ever read!!
This book started out with action, and didn’t die down at all. I was on my toes the entire book. You think you have the ending figured out, but let me tell you. No way! This was literally such a good book. It’s definitely worth the read. I really think they should make this book into a movie. I’d buy a ticket and watch it. 😊
Mystery and Supernatural Combined
An excellent mystery story with a splash of the supernatural. The author, Celeste Prater, had me hooked from the start. With fresh storytelling mechanics, like not introducing our main character until the third chapter, to not being afraid to let the story go where it needs to. From one clue to the next, this tale has genuine surprises around every corner. The author's ability to develop a story while also developing the character's relationships was well balanced and provided a feel of the real world. This is a must-read for anyone who enjoys a good mystery.
Jeffery S Fellin did a spectacular job narrating this audiobook. He brought this well-written book to life. Constant character voices, conveying emotions, you name it he nailed it.
Editing, quality, and production were on par with most books I have listened to. It was clear, with no issue with sound or quality.
The Audiobookreviewer’s Choice Award is a prestigious award presented to the author of the book whose story is believed to deserve higher than the standard 5 Star Rating.
