Publisher's Summary

Josie Barton is a lean, mean, faerie-fighting machine. After her victory against the infamous lord, Fir Darrig, the young sorceress has taken up the family tradition of bringing the words offenders of the faerie world to justice. Partnered with her changeling boyfriend, Zeph Clemmont, and back by the Faerie King, Eldrick Dorchaidhe, Josie feels confident she has nothing more to fear.

Until a case stirs up whispers of a name all fave, both Seelie and Unseelie, fear....

But chasing rumors of skiia may carry Josie down a path riddled with dangerous magic not even Zeph can save her from. Can Josie muster the strength to face the darkest secrets of her past? Or will the same monsters who obliterated the faerie world now destroy the human one, too?

Includes the short story "Dirty Magic"

Almost 20 years before Josie defeated Fir Darrig, her mother, Marissa Barton, was a professional faerie-slayer. But when she stumbles across a young changeling in desperate need of help, Marissa couldn't have known how that purple-eyed boy would impact her family forever. "Dirty Magic" is a never-before-seen short story from the world of Mad Magic.

I don’t get it.

I am an avid listener of audiobooks, rarely do I come across something that choses to end a book in a series at such bizarre places. I need some serious explanations. I hope book 3 will finish this series off in a manner worthy of the story and respectful of the reader.

NOT HAPPY AT WHERE THE BOOK ENDED!

Really getting into the story & it just ends. The first book ended well. This book was too short for the price. Most of all it ended in the middle! Like seriously, How could you just do that?! And there is no telling when the rest will come out. I'm all for series. That's what I buy. But to just end it like this & only have 22 chapters in it? Nichole really girl, got do better on this! You can't get people all into a story & end it at A NON- STOPPING POINT. Stretch out what you had in the beginning out. There's a bit more could have been explained it something, a lot was going on. Very disappointed in this books ending. Shoot add more about Josie's parents & brother or something.

excellent continuation with cliffhangers

This is a great follow up for the first book. Takes place a year or so after book one ended. You get part of the story from different characters perspectives, which is different from book one.

But!! It’s ONE HUNDRED PERCENT a cliffhanger. Whereas book one could have a bow tied around it and ended, this one left so many questions that you’re itching for the third installment (ha, good job Ms. Conway for leaving folks wanting to read the next, I see what you did there). Not that it wasn’t enjoyable - if you liked the first chances are you’ll like this. It just left SO many major loose ends, which kinda stinks because ... you know, folks like to
have answers. With all that being said, I would recommend it, just mentally prepare yourself for some questions to not be answered.

Holy Moly!

Wow! I cannot wait for the third book to come out. I am checking daily on audible. Nicole Conway has a way of making you need to know what is going to happen next. Erin Moon and P.J Ochlan are now on my list of favorite narrators The world building is phenomenal and the narrator knocked it out of the park. This story is beautifully written and the emotions I felt while listening was just like a roller coaster. Kept me on the edge of my seat! Keep up the wonderful work!

Not as good as the first

I don’t like how it ended and then started talking about Josie before she was born. It was kinda of a waste of time in the end. Overall the beginning of this book cracked me up so I love this author and the narrator Erin Moon
