great story but felt like half a book.

his story was just as awesome as everything by these two authors except that it seems to cut off abruptly, as if they literally decided to make one book into two books and just cut it down the center. no epilogue no build-up no climax just suddenly and without warning... ended... and that was it. still a great installment of the shrouded World story none the less.

Too much Tufo

This co-authored series was interesting and fun for the first 2 books. But this novel was a little more trying to get through. I used to like Mike Tufo but his stories strayed too far from the original plot lines. Not to mention the addition of gratuitous sexuality and his own personal harem.
I read and enjoyed all of O'Brien's original series and wish they had continued. I'm sorry to say I won't be buying another book from this series.

Less Action, More Craziness

This story is a bit slower than the previous ones. There is more psychological and emotional attention, at the expense of both action and humor. My favorite aspect of the series so far has been the antics of Trip. While he is growing and maintaining lucidity with greater frequency, I miss the antics of the stoner. There are still some, but fewer.
We learn about the whistlers, which is cool, and some new supernatural elements are introduced. This transition seems to be the new direction of the series for the foreseeable future. It has promise.
Sean Runnette is the voice of the Mike Talbot books, and again delivers an excellent performance. He is excellent, as always!

long build up to the next book

this was very entertaining, but it ended abruptly with no real pay off. the narrator was amazing and this was well written but it was truly just a book to get the next book.

Hate cliffhangers. Love this series

This was a great addition the the Shrouded World Series. Bringing in the “additions” Mr’s. Tufo and O’Brien did was pure genius. Can’t say more without major spoilers. What other series will you find a Devil Dog partnered with an AF JSOC guy and a stoner-savant?! And the “big bad guy” that isn’t a bad guy.....Oh, and guns! And intelligent prose! Mike and Jack mesh together beautifully.
Gentlemen, you’re killing me with the cliffhangers! I listened to this in less than a 24 hour period I was that enthralled!
PleasePLEASE finish and release the next installment most Ricky-tick!!!

Semper Fi!

mixed on Jack's story line

much prefer the story line with Mike and Trip. Jack's story line is dry. overall pretty good spinoff.

overall good but some missteps

onlybthing wrong is a lot of repetitive dialog and over used phrases. also they all end abruptly..but I'm interested enough to keep going.
