great story but felt like half a book.

his story was just as awesome as everything by these two authors except that it seems to cut off abruptly, as if they literally decided to make one book into two books and just cut it down the center. no epilogue no build-up no climax just suddenly and without warning... ended... and that was it. still a great installment of the shrouded World story none the less.

Less Action, More Craziness

This story is a bit slower than the previous ones. There is more psychological and emotional attention, at the expense of both action and humor. My favorite aspect of the series so far has been the antics of Trip. While he is growing and maintaining lucidity with greater frequency, I miss the antics of the stoner. There are still some, but fewer.
We learn about the whistlers, which is cool, and some new supernatural elements are introduced. This transition seems to be the new direction of the series for the foreseeable future. It has promise.
Sean Runnette is the voice of the Mike Talbot books, and again delivers an excellent performance. He is excellent, as always!

long build up to the next book

this was very entertaining, but it ended abruptly with no real pay off. the narrator was amazing and this was well written but it was truly just a book to get the next book.

Hate cliffhangers. Love this series

This was a great addition the the Shrouded World Series. Bringing in the “additions” Mr’s. Tufo and O’Brien did was pure genius. Can’t say more without major spoilers. What other series will you find a Devil Dog partnered with an AF JSOC guy and a stoner-savant?! And the “big bad guy” that isn’t a bad guy.....Oh, and guns! And intelligent prose! Mike and Jack mesh together beautifully.
Gentlemen, you’re killing me with the cliffhangers! I listened to this in less than a 24 hour period I was that enthralled!
PleasePLEASE finish and release the next installment most Ricky-tick!!!

Semper Fi!

Tedious Journey

I was hoping this series would add a little insight into the Fallout series but it hasn't so far.
It took one book for the characters to meet up, the second book to make it to a building, another to get to a government installation and now this one us just as confusing as your girlfriend telling you that she is breaking up with you because she "just wants to be alone" only to see her two weeks later in a loving embrace with some other guy.
The Jack part of the story is so difficult to fight through. Tedious descriptions of everything he is seeing, what is in every drawer and closet of any room he walks into and seething with self pity. I know this is what the character is experiencing but at some point advance the story. There is only one chapter of Jack's story that didn't put me to sleep and then the story was swept aside and the whole series went off the rails.
I'm not sure I'm going to finish the series because I really don't care what happens to these characters since they aren't really the characters I'm familiar with in the other series... or are they? I don't know and at this point I don't care.

even better than the others!

I'm loving this series! both main Characters make to laugh out loud and really hope nothing bad happens to them. The action as always is full on and I finished the story much to quickly and now I'm on count down for the next book. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and the character of Trip was as always a treat!

A great turn for this series

I love the be direction this series has turned into. I really don't feel I can say much without spoilers but I found this book more harrowing and exciting than the others have been, and I thoroughly enjoyed the others. Trip continues to be incredibly funny and perplexing whilst Mike and especially Jack go through some serious difficulty and pain. Brilliantly written as always from Mark Tufo and John O'Brien and as ever, Sean Runnette brings the story and characters alive with his skilful narration.

Another great book from Mark and John.

Love the way the characters work. I love all Mark and john's books. But the cliffhanger at the end is hard, we all want the end of book the guys.

Sean is just the best narrator ever I think.

If you leave the next book on a cliffhanger I'll only rate it 3 stars :p

Always wanting more

Mark tufo is my fav author, no matter what road he is leading me down, zombies, aliens, parallel worlds all of it has me hooked. This book brings even more into a world thats so spun out that i have no idea whats going on or how things will turn out. Trip is such an awesome character, both versions of him, that i hope there will be a stand alone story for him, how it all started and the things and lives he has lived! Cant wait for more...
