Publisher's Summary

I stood by and let it happen for too long, but I will not do it anymore. I will not be the person who watches others get hurt and does nothing to stop it. Not anymore.

Returning to Sovereign City after everything that was stolen from her is something Indra never thought she would do. Despite the scars she wears both inside and out, left there at the hands of the Sovereign and the Fortis, she is determined to save her people from oppression, even if it means putting her own safety at risk. But it isn’t long before she once again finds her world shattering around her. As the dust settles, Indra manages to find strength among the ruins, and she sets out on a quest to unite the four Outlier tribes, hoping to take their enemies down once and for all.

Can I leave 6 stars???

I was hooked on this series after the first audiobook... I have anticipated the release of this one since I finished it, and it definitely was worth the wait. Now... please hurry with number 3!!! I can’t say enough about the author and narrator and how great they both bring this book to life. I was given this free review copy and have voluntarily left this review.

If at first you don't succeed!...

Indra embarks on her new task after her revelation or awakening of who she is and what her purpose here on earth is. She has been on a one-woman quest to rid the world of the Fortis; one man at a time. She has been successful because she has not been seen, leaving the killings for the wild animals to mask her involvement. That luck is sure to run out and it will have dire consequences for the other Outliers. Realizing she can not accomplish her task on her own, Indra sets out to unite the four tribes of Outliers. If she succeeds she will have the numbers necessary to defeat the Fortis and then move on to the Sovereign. This is the story of Indra’s new mission; to unite the Outliers and bring an end to the Sovereign’s reign of oppression. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Great Fantasy Adventure!

Story has a very good flowing from scene to scene. Author has thought out progression of entire audiobook to smoothly require a sequel. Narration was flawless, and professional. The narrator’s voice was perfect for this type of story. It is not an “ooey-gooey girlie”book, but one that will draw listeners into the different characters experiences. I recommend this audiobook for ages 17 and older due to some adult situations. I was given this audiobook for free and I freely give my opinion and rating

Keeps getting better and better

I finished this in two days! I am loving this series so far! It’s a dystopian book for adults instead of young adults. I absolutely loved it and can’t wait to start the next one.

Enjoyable listen

I listened to the first book and was eager to find out what happened next. I received a free copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review. It is interesting and a different way the world can exist after the end of the world as we know happens. I liked the characters and their stories. I will continue with the series.

Even Better With Each Book!

Ahh! This series, I loved the first, and really really loved this one! I always say the best series start out good and keep getting better, and this one definitely does! It was a special treat that this one and the next are a bit longer than the first, and I loved the narration in this series!

With a Rebel Yell... she cried more more more!

I received this book via a free promo code and this is my voluntary review. Book 2 in the Outliers series.... now it does a pretty decent recap but you should enjoy Outliers before you make it this far so you can understand the true source of the trust Indra has for Asa and why she needs revenge against the Sovereign and Forties. The Sovereign have been plotting for a long time to enslave their Outlier servants in Forties village and keep them even more in their grasp.. as if slavery would be an efficient improvement from the indentured servitude that they currently suffer. Forties are the domesticated thugs at the walls of Sovereign city and sometimes their cruelty is even worse than that of the Sovereign, as they abuses their own position to kill and hurt Outliers for sport since they cannot take their anger out on their masters. Indra has now recovered from her injuries after her husband Bodhi was killed by her Mistress Saffron orders, soon though, she discovers a thirst for revenge, and she gets it by slaying Forties hunting parties who venture into the Wilds. Before long Indra has returned to her position in the House of Saffron but with a very specific goal in mind. Not content with just revenge for herself, she wants to free all her people.. every Outlier. Asa is still as in love with Indra as ever, unable to be with her as he works as a Forties Guard for the House of Saffron and hes desperate to protect her this time around. When Saffron's evil son tries to violate Indras friend Mira, she takes swift action setting into motion a series of events which leads to the decimation of the Winta Tribe. With the few remaining survivors of her people, Indra recruits the other leaders of fellow Outlier tribes and the rebellion is underway. Ends on a cliff hanger but dont all the best things come in 3s????

Great book but Hoped for more

I would say that I am veracious reader and listener and get through a few books/ Audio books a week. I have eclectic tastes which range from Jeffrey Archer to Stephen King, My main genres are Fantasy and Sci-fi. I contacted the author on social media who very kindly gave me a copy of the book. I was overjoyed by the first book and it is easily was my favourite book of 2019 so far so I had high hopes for the second instalment. Again I love the Narrator I know some people are not keen on her accent but it is so distinct and unlike anything that I have listened to before. I feel that she is perfect for the story, Also the quality of the recording is awesome! So the story why did I only give it 4 stars, the main reason was that the plot was relatively straight forward not that this is a bad thing but it wasn't what I expected after listening to the first book. I almost felt like it was trying to get from point to point in the quickest/easiest way. The character development was good especially with the main protagonist growing and starting to get a wider perspective. I'm looking forward to the next book and hoping to delve deeper into the world. I would recommend this book to anyone and still believe that it has potential to be an epic series.
