Unique and entertaining listen

This was a very entertaining listen. It grabbed my attention from the beginning and I couldn’t stop listening. It’s quite a different take on supernatural creatures and time portals. I really enjoyed it and will definitely pick up the next book. As always, Hannibal Hills’ narration is fantastic. Hills is quickly becoming one of my favorite narrators, and, in fact, was the reason I chose to listen to this book. I received a review copy at my request and voluntarily reviewed.

Thru-Out Time Thriller

Decent supernatural story with vampires and other creatures from other worlds. My favorite character was Jake (PI) as there were many characters within the time changes and portals (stories within stories that become linked) (which could be confusing at times). It held my interest I had to keep listening and want to follow Jake to next book. Recommend to anyone who enjoy vampires and travel thru portals. Confusing and hard to follow.

Got to admit, not much of a fan here. I was just very hard to follow with the story jumping times, places, worlds and adding new characters. Kept getting confused about many characters and the order they came in. Near end it starts getting a little easier. The concept of multiple worlds with magic doors between them was interesting though and many possibilities.

Complex but I really liked it

I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

This was a very complex book. There were several seperate story lines that ultimately get tied together, which was a relief for me. I hate when books don't tie the seperate threads together and leave you hanging. Anyway, with that in mind, some of the transitions between threads were a bit abrupt. The narration was pretty good. The narrator's accent lends an interesting feel to the story that I found I enjoyed. All in all, a good book and one I'd recommend if you like complex stories like this.

Unknown where this book was leading me

This book has a lot going on. I enjoyed some of the story lines but there were so much going on I got lost often and wasn’t always sure which timeline I was in. I definitely preferred the natural timeline the most, but probably because that was the most sensible, even with a vampire running around. The transitions seemed abrupt and I constantly felt like I missed something and had to rewind. The confusion led to boredom which led to me listening to other books which only compounded my confusion. The last hour of the story really did help tie it all back up for me so I didn’t walk away completely lost and did gain a sense of appreciation for what the story was.

Given my complaints this did have a lot of good things going for it. Totally unique story that takes you all over the place with strange creatures, different dimensions, lots of action, some horror, and a bunch of twists and turns all wrapped up in a The Lion, Witch, and Wardrobe fantasy feel. The author is a skilled writer and I completely appreciated both his story telling ability as well as his writing. As far as this being a series, I am good enough with just having listened to the first one.

I enjoyed the narrator quite a bit. Really enjoyed his accent and thought his voice and narration was spot on for this style of book. This is the third book I have listened to narrated by Hills and I will definitely continue to listen to him. Have to say he was a big part in keeping me moving forward in this story.

Wow, Hannibal Hills gives an amazing performace

Unkown was full of twists and turns.. it was a bit of paranormal and horror mixed together.. it was superbly-written! Unknown kept me on my toes the entire time... wondering what was going to happen next. The writing really just created this world! It's quite a gift that Phil Price has.

Hannibal Hills is an amazing narrator. There's something about this voice that gives me the willies instantly! I don't know if it's all in my head or all in his voice but it's perfect for this horror/scary type of book! Great job Mr. Hills! Can't wait to hear more!

Absolutely Fantastic!!!!

Unknown was one of the best books I've listened to this year! I am a vampire lover. However, I like the old school vampires who want to eat you instead of love you and this story did not disappoint. Not only were there vicious vampires but other creatures as well and I totally loved it.

The way Price intertwined the various centuries with one another and the characters was simply amazing. However, because this did bounce between worlds if I got distracted for even one minute or failed to give my full attention I wound up just a little lost. The pace was great and kept me on the edge of my seat with anticipation but this WAS NOT scary in any way. Price also changed the vampire's rules a bit but it worked.

The narrator performed so well that I am going to look for his other projects. He made it very easy to know which characters were speaking and he just made it a fun experience.

I am definitely a Phil Price fan now and hope the next two books in this series will be on Audible sooner than later. I highly recommend this to anyone 16 and older.

Confusing, but still good

The time lines and alternate places did create some confusion trying to follow the story. This was a different take on vampires, so that's good. Good listen, not great, but good.

*DNF*

Vampire isn't my favorite, but this one had a different twist so I was trying to stick with it. But when big bosoms and birthing hips come into play, I'm out. Really??

Fast paced and such a great take on supernatural and fantasy brilliant

Absolutely loved this audiobook. It had me desperately wanting to listen to it when I just couldn’t!
The story just didn’t stop it was fast paced & so different. Vampires aren’t just run of the mill and the doorways to other places are fab. I love the weaving and mixing of old, new, creatures etc
I don’t want to give anything away, so hard to not spill it all though!
The narrator was great too, very nice voice, good tempo and with a name like Hannibal how could he not be cool!
I Have the ebook as well and I will be reading it some time soon as the story really grabbed me.
