So much for happy endings....

Thrust into a life and family that neither of them were looking for, Gabi Jacobs and Terrence Whitaker decide that they'll just make the best of it, because the have most important ingredient: love.

They fail...miserably.

Through the ashes of their failed romantic relationship, they're able to form a different type of bond, one that allows them to effectively co-parent their daughter, and even become friends.

But is that enough?

Constantly pulled together by chance and circumstance, will Gabi and Terrence decide to embark on a journey to finish what they started, or will they decide that it's best to leave the past in the past?

Contains mature themes.

I’ve heard of slow burn romances but, Unfinished Business was excruciatingly slow. When I tell y’all I was sick of Gabi, I was sick of her! She frustrated me so much. I get her wanting to be cautious because of the way Terrence showed his behind but, come on! It’s been five years! The man has changed, he’s apologized, and he’s gone above and beyond to show you he’s bout’ that grown man life but, Gabi is still on that I need time mess. She was the one sabotaging their happiness this time around because, she wouldn't let go of the past. Gabi is a prime example of biting your nose off to spite your face. She was willing to be miserable and unhappy just to “protect her heart” but, the heffa had no problem stringing Preston along and pretending with him. When she took that bracelet off the second time, I wanted to fight Gabi. We finally get rid of Michael only to have to put up with Preston and Sabrina’s petty and jealous selves. I have to give it to them, they played their rolls perfectly as the villains of this story. I really wish Uncle Bobby would’ve let Terrence loose on Preston because, he more than deserved to catch those hands. What happened with Gabi’s parents? I know she cut them off in book one but, it’s five years later. It would’ve been nice to get some kind of update on them and their relationship (or lack thereof) with Gabi. While they were apart for the majority of the book, Gabi’s relationship with Terrance is admirable. I loved how they were able to come together after the break-up and co-parent Joci like adults with no drama. I wasn’t happy with how long it took them to get to their HEA but, I can appreciate Gabi and Terrence's growth which allowed them a much deserved second chance. As frustrating as Unfinished Business was, it was still a great book. CCJ did such a beautiful job drawing the readers into Gabi and Terrence's story. Get into this series ladies and gents. You will not be disappointed.

A lot of twists and turns to get there, but this was the ending I was hoping for. Really enjoyed this series.

this second book was better than the first however what annoyed me was Gaby back and forth emotions. She was stringing him along the games she played was very childish, I get she got hurt but geez either get over it or forgive and not play games. Of course Jakobi and Wesleigh hands down my favorite narrators. Terrance idk is bookbae I know he messed up but not really he is a stand up guy.

Again the drawn out story drive me crazy

There’s nothing like a great love story. Terrance and Gabi aren’t perfect but they fit perfectly together

I listen to this book for a second time and I do still like the overall story and I love the ending. I honestly was hella annoyed with Gabby and how difficult she was being with Terrance but remember her issues from the first book I definitely understand.
still is a good read.

I still like it

I love the plot and story line but I feel there could have been more. I wanted to know more about their lives before and after.

Wish there was more!
